This game keeps goin back in time. O well, I like it. And I would want to find out about all that stuff. Maybe life before the Soviet invasion of Nogova. They keep setting these games up for more games.

Get the coat and ready the rubber room! biggrin.gif BIS should make a game about the island in the early 1900's.

Its not really suited for trenchn warfare though. Id like to go forward in time to maybe 1990, keeping the same story line, although guba's dead or imprisoned, depeneding on what you did in the first game.

If you can not add anything to a discussion, then I recommend you do not at all.

I realise you were trying to be a bit sarcastic, but this is the wrong way.

smile.gif combat got told off tounge.gif

anyway, I think that maybe in the next addon that is released (might this be independance lost?) it will show how Troska and Gastovski and Jill all met. There seems to be quite a lot of people with british accents on Nogova, so maybe there was a war that took place near there some years ago?

Maybe victor was a grunt who got promoted to squad leader (similar to the same story as Armstrong) and then met and made friends with Gastovski, and Jill was like a nurse or something like that.

Thats more like a suggestion really. Its just an idea.

What?

OPF doesn't go THAT far back in time. It uses all of today's weapons. The only things that the U.S. military doesn't use anymore are the Jeeps and the M60 (tank, not Mgun). And the russians still use most of their tanks and jeeps too. Probably not the T55 though tounge.gif

That's just not correct at all.

You know what I reckon? Trotskas ex SAS and he was protecting a Brittish representative in afghanistan (liz) Like in Crisis Four by Andy McNab with that Sarah chick. And Gastofski and Trotska met while supplying the mujabhed or whatever with nice stingers to take down hinds

Thats kinda what i think, that troska is ex-sas and moved out to novoga for some peace. And if gastovski is delta force they're bound to have done exercises together. thjats what methinks. Dunno bout liz tho, sarah is a bit of a biatch and liz aint.

My money's on a fishing accident too.

Troska is retired Special Forces of some sort. He's an old buddy of Gastovski from some previous conflict. But the voice for ol' Vic doesn't sound like some hayseed from southern georgia (btw, some mighty fine BBQ in Southern Georgia). Mr. Troska could have picked up RP English at the Public High Schools in inner-city Detroit.

This is the grounds for the SAS speculation.

On the other hand, OF is anything but realistic when it comes to units and their designations. Gastovski and his buddies aren't Rangers, Seals, GBs, Delta or even just "Special Forces"; they're "Black Ops".

As for the Res. storyline; I suspect the campaign got altered to fit time constraints. The ending just doesn't feel right. It's like there's a "concluding" mission that got axed.

Britain has several special forces teams (not just the SAS). As well as highly secret squads such as the "Firm" and the "Increment" that MI5 and MI6 operate.
