Check the computer and in-game sound settings... maybe you're set up for surround sound or something.

Also do you have any trouble hearing characters talking behind your back or are there any other sounds than your own gunshots you can't hear?

Can you hear your character moaning when you've been sprinting a lot?

If it's only the gunshot sounds and nothing else I'd re-install.

What do you use for sound? Onboard? Sound card? External card/DAC?

if your source for sound doesn't have a setting for virtual surround (Dolby Headphone, SBX, ETC) make sure your windows sound setup is set to 2 speakers/headphones. If it's set for 5.1 you would be missing channels.

Here are my sound settings. I use the headphones.

How would I change those options?

With your headphones selected hit configure. Try setting it up for 2.0 or headphones and see if that solves your issues. From reading the specs for the headphones they're supposed to be 7.1 - have you installed any drivers for them? I'd check out their website for drivers for your version of windows then in the properties you should be able to select 7.1 and get virtual surround.

How do the headphones connect to your PC? Is it a USB connection or audio jack connection?

Alright guys, so I bought a sound card because apparently my headphones needed to have can optical cable plugged into an optical port, I just got my card and plugged everything in and basically it refused to work. My headphone manufacturer told me to set the SPDIF to default and basically that didn't work. So, I set it back to the Headphone speakers and went in game, and fucking again, you guess it, No. Fucking. Gunshot sound. To DayGlow, I can't set it up for that because I can only choose 'Mono' as you can see here:

To Nicholas, it is through USB and Optical Cable as you can see here:

By the way, I can hear every other sound, even other people's gunshots, but my own I can't.

Just to be sure: You need to have volume compensation disabled in the settings of your audio devices.

What sound card did you get. Reading up on your headphones you need Dobly Digital encoding on the optical out for the headphones to properly work.

You can only set it to mono? Something is very wrong with your PC. Do you have the proper drivers installed?

Rightclick the sound icon in the system tray then leftclick "Playback Devices".

Select your output device, then click "Properties".

Select the "Enhancements" tab and deactivate Loudness Equalization.

Dude I´m seriously out of ideas. Something seems to be wrong with your Hardware/Software setup. Do other games work?

Well, Project Reality (Battlefield 2 version) had issues with their radio and it was a problem with my headset. I think it was a conflict between my headset and the game.
