I have an Athlon 2000+ and a Geforce 2 MX 400, with 256 DDR Ram and an ASUS A7A266 Mobo. I run the game at around 30 to 40 FPS, at 800 X 600 32 bit color. I noticed that I improved the performance SIGNIFICANTLY by turning on frame limiter. And the patch came out about a week after release. On the forums i didnt see any complaining at all.  

Howabout OFP 1.20, that had trillions of bugs, crappy graphics, horrible network code. I didnt see you thrashing it. OFP still has lots of bugs and way too many limitations on its engine.

And how about the PC gamer ppl, they had practically the same machine as you, but with a pentium, and they claimed to run the game superb.

The M is put on the boxes so lawyers know who to sue the next time a kid shoots a bunch of this schoolmates and it's blamed on the "Mature" video games he owns.

Of course they can't sue the parents for being totally oblivious to what games their children play. Moms and Dads are so busy today, working 2 jobs so they can pay off the house, any court time would cut into their "family time." And we all know a close knit family is important to society.

Nor can they sue the store or video rental store that let the kid buy/rent the game, they were only trying to make a buck, no harm intended.

No, all the lawyers know and understand that the M stands for MONEY, as in, sue ME I have MONEY.

the thing i didn't like about Gta3 was that there wasn't any people around certian areas ware there should have been. like at a public swimming pool should have been crawling w/ people. that and the lack of motorcycles was a disapointment. theres supposedly another game in the works by sony thats like GTA but worse, that it takes place someware in london but i think its gona suck. but i don't remember the name of it.

You should check out the Vice City screenshots, i've got a very good website for you, i'll give it if you want to see it.

ANyway, you'll see that there are a lot more ppl near pools than on the streets and stuff like that.

So i think there'll be more ppl on certain places just like you want to

Thats the point. It works fine on some machiens, and it doesn't work very well at all on some others without fixes from users.

As for 'no complaining on the forums' Go to www.gta3forums.com and go to the trouble shooting session. I think the threads undermine your theory altogether.

As for the week release, the 1.1 patch after several weeks of complaining was released, which fixed bugger all.

As for 1.20. We are now on 1.75. BIS actually fixed the problems, I was a bit pissed off them but something was done about it. Rockstar have done nothing.... complete silence and no official statement. Suma usually comes onto the forums to discuss things, I have seen nothing from Rockstar.

Bugged software upsets me, but bugged software which isnt fixed really pisses me off.

I like GTA3, but people cannot say that they received adequate support. It was crap, and I'm thankful the community supported us..... Rockstar better get its act together before I buy any of its products again.
