What made you buy ArmA 2

Recommended Posts

I got into ArmA 2 about 6 months ago after watch CHKilroys 'The Days Ahead' series and it got me thinking. How did you find out about ArmA 2 and what made you want to buy it.

The series in general, played Arma a lot so naturally moved onto A2, and to be honest its nowhere near as buggy as it was on release and for sometime after.

Its the most realistic of all the games in the series, but that's all down to the content available.

ArmA II is till The game for me since it is one of the verxy few featuring a well depicted and realistic central european landscape. ArmA II even made me go and visit the real area between Decin and Usti nad Labem twice so far.

Got invited to play some ArmA II Free tacticool missions back in 2009. Then the mission editor capabilities tickled my autism, so I went and bought CO so I could use community addons, which are endless and free, and you don't really find such creativity in other gaming communities.

Arma 2, really was thinking hard, thought about staying with Arma, but decided to move on, took time though. But when OA came out, was really pleased, didn't look back.:)

I was tired of the Ghost Recon series (the community of that 12yr old game was not enough to keep my squad going) and I was looking for a similar alternative. I wanted a game that realistically modeled combat, supported teamwork in multiplayer, and wasn't restrictive like most FPS games these days. ARMA fit the bill and I haven't played any other games since I bought it a few months ago.
