Kydoimos 916 Posted October 27, 2013 Great stuff Anthony! I'll be giving you a bell with the next episode! Tankbuster, I haven't had much luck. I've got one line of dialogue in Greek, but I've done the voice myself (I had a phonetic translation to work from, and I'm a Classical Studies student, so I managed to cobble the Greek together!). I've contacted a Greek speaker (still waiting to hear back) and I've left posts in a Greek Arma community. I was thinking, it might be quite cool to get some Greek ambient chatter - you know, like a few Greek soldiers talking together. If we kept it quite neutral, it would be a great recording for all of us to use in our mission making. So Greek speakers - if you're out there - do give us a shout! the_demongod 31 Posted October 27, 2013 (edited) I would also be interested in providing additional recordings :) I have considered voice acting as a career, and having musician parents, I have lots of nice audio recording equipment in my garage. I will be in japan from december 22 until january 4, but when I return I would be happy to record a few more lines. It would be interesting if community voice dubbing became a common occurrence, it would really add a lot to the development of user missions and such. Just imagine needing a line, and going to armaholic or something and just being able to ask for it. You'd get several recordings which you could choose from. Just a thought! ave, the_Demongod EDIT: Also Kydoimos, where did you get your Arma 3 radio protocol? I would like to get it as well. Kydoimos 916 Posted October 28, 2013 Hi Demongod - not quite sure what you mean by the Arma 3 protocol? Do you mean the Arma 3 radio static and beeps I mentioned? If so, you can find them in the Audio Dubbing Data .pbo, under addons in your Arma3 directory. They're a nightmare to get hold of though, I had to extract them onto my desktop because opening the .pbo direct with BItools just ended up crashing my computer. ---------- Post added at 22:13 ---------- Previous post was at 20:28 ---------- Okay, for all those interested, here's the full script for the first mission in my campaign: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/73485099/Script.docx. If anybody wants to record for it, feel free! I have everything recorded, but am keen for new people to submit material. Needless to say, the best will get the part! But I'd like to use everybody's voice who submits somewhere along the line, even if it's in a later episode. As I said earlier, I'm not opposed to writing in parts for people. Demongod - I'll certainly be adding in an American squad somewhere along the line!
the_demongod 31 Posted October 29, 2013 yes I did mean the static and beeps and such. sorry to be confusing. if you're .pbo extractor doesn't work well, I have a really good one you might want to try: http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=16369. Thanks for the American squad, I look forward to voicing a character sometime in the future :) ave, the_Demongod
Kydoimos 916 Posted November 1, 2013 Hi - could do with a quick line with an English accent for the upcoming release of my Armoury template. I'm releasing it due to demand and it ought to be ready within a week or two. Officer: 'Lieutenant (lef-ten-ant), welcome to Stratis. Go ahead and collect your accoutrement from the armoury'. ---------- Post added at 13:00 ---------- Previous post was at 12:58 ---------- Anthony, if you fancy giving that a go - I'd be delighted! I think you have an 'officer' tone! :) Demongod - working on a couple of lines for you too, if you want them!
Kydoimos 916 Posted November 1, 2013 Hey Demongod - don't know if you're up for it - but I could do with an American accent for the armoury clerk if you like! You don't have to, but if you get a moment, would be great to get something similar to the following: 'Armoury clerk: 'Hey, Lieutenant (Loo-ten-ant this time! He's American :)), what can I do you for?'. Or maybe 'Hey, Lieutenant, what are you after?'. I think you'll like the template - ought to be very popular. TrenchClub 10 Posted November 1, 2013 How come I can't start a new thread? The only thing I came to these forums for is to ask about scripting help.

Kydoimos 916 Posted November 3, 2013 (edited) Holiday50 - great news! I've had a lot of fantastic interest from American accented volunteers and am planning on adding American characters into both my campaign and my forthcoming 'Armoury' template. The first episode of the campaign is very nearly finished, so it's all coming along nicely! Watch this space! I'll need all the help I can get with voices! ---------- Post added at 09:29 ---------- Previous post was at 08:53 ---------- Okay, so, Americans :) - here's some lines of dialogue for the Armoury template, example mission: Role 1 Armoury clerk: [Casual] Heya, what is it you need? Role 2 Officer: [Casual] Good morning, Lieutenant - welcome to Stratis. First thing's first, go and explore the armoury over there and get yourself kitted out. Role 3 Soldier: I'm telling you, man. The Greenbacks are up to something. McKinnon's freaking out. Soldier: I don't know - I don't like it. Role 4 Soldier: Just keep packing, we're leaving this shithole. And besides, what are they going to do? I mean... seriously? Soldier: Come on, Spender, you don't like anything. Always with your goddamn gut-feelings. You're worse than McKinnon. the_demongod 31 Posted November 5, 2013 Sounds good! which should I do? I could do any of them, although if holiday50 has a southern accent, I feel like he would fit the armory clerk the best. maybe I'll just do them all so you have plenty of options :) ave, the_Demongod
Kydoimos 916 Posted November 14, 2013 Hi, Demongod - I've got a few roles for you to try out soon - very exciting stuff. I'll keep you posted. In need of an American accent! The armoury template is finished and out on Steam Workshop. In the end, I cast a chap named Andrew Mooney - I think you'll agree he's quite good. I'd love to cast you in a role for a new SP mission I'm putting together though, as I was impressed with your recording. Anyway, check out the template when you get a moment, so you can see what sort of stuff I'm up to :). Hope you like it! I'll be writing the script over the next few weeks and I'll send you a copy - if you're interested!
Kydoimos 916 Posted November 22, 2013 Okay all - I have a script. Am now in need of some American accents - so please, give us a shout if you're interested!

the_demongod 31 Posted November 23, 2013 hey Kydoimos, sorry it's been so long, I've been really busy the last few weeks. you'll be happy to know that I'm bouncing all my audio files to disk this very minute. I'll transfer them over to my main computer in a few minutes and have them posted. EDIT: ^J0nes, that is some sick-ass music you've got on your soundcloud. mind if I ask what you used to play and record your sounds? Kydoimos you should ask him if you can use some of his tracks in your mission. ave, the_Demongod
j0nes 194 Posted November 23, 2013 well thank you very much:) Fruity-loops 11, Finale 2012, and Garage Band for "Duel in the East" which I had to do on a school owned Mac. I should be getting some new orchestral instrument sounds sometime after thanksgiving (as well as a new microphone) so if music is needed let me know. I must say though, the BIS composers made quite the awesome soundtrack as is.
the_demongod 31 Posted November 23, 2013 yeah they certainly did. I loved the campaign music. How did you learn to produce and write the music? have you taken music theory classes or do you just come up with these melodies on your own?
j0nes 194 Posted November 23, 2013 Im in my second year of study at college to become a composer. Mostly for band and orchestra, but Id like to do writing for movies and video games as well (becuase I want to actually be able to have enough money to live xD). I havent started taking formal composition lessons yet so I guess Im "self taught" at this point, although Ive had tons of musical training (piano for 11 years, trumpet for 9, band for 9). as far as writing melodies and stuff, I just kinda write whatever comes to mind unless Ive been commissioned to write a specific piece or a specific type of music. Im still learning my way around Fruity Loops at this point which is why theres not many volume changes, just adding and dropping of instruments to simulate volume changes, but like everything else practice makes perfect so Ill get it eventually! I dont want to take up this threads time with my personal life, but thats a general overview, if you (or anyone else) has questions feel free to pm, email me or whatever and ill do my best to answer them :)
iceman77 19 Posted November 24, 2013 (edited) I need some Iranian voices for a night mission I'm making. The mission involves a CSAT special ops squad assaulting a camp & rescuing a POW from the FIA. Squad leader: - "HQ, we have the POW. Preparing for extraction." - "Objective Area Secured" - "HQ, we've found several planning documents here at the camp" HQ: - "Roger that rogue 1. Orca's on standBy" - "Good work rogue 1, make sure those documents get back in one piece" Edited November 24, 2013 by Iceman77
Kydoimos 916 Posted November 24, 2013 Iceman - check out these threads: http://forums.bistudio.com/group.php?groupid=96. Or create a new one with your request - it might be an idea to post on an amateur voice actor's forum, because I don't think there are many Farsi speakers floating around the BI forums (I may be mistaken!). Thanks Demongod, looking forward to the recordings! And Jones, yeah, check out the script: https://www.dropbox.com/s/h4h763zzkby1ctm/Script.docx. I'd love to hear your southern accent. I'll also check out this kick-ass music! :)
j0nes 194 Posted November 24, 2013 (edited) unfortunately I dont have a southern accent, that was holliday50, but ill still give it a read :P also I see by those grids that theres going to be some swimming in this mission, looking forward to it! Kydoimos 916 Posted November 24, 2013 Don't mind about the southern accent, Jones! :) Any American accent would be good! Give it a bash if you like! No swimming, I'm afraid. The co-ordinates are right, but were you reading them for Altis? :p Because the mission is on Stratis! Swimming is in the pipeline though!
