Not really.

But by continuing to foster such an arrogant and uneducated view of forest management, who knows what could happen in the future!

You think by now that people would know that nature pretty much takes care of itself, and every time humans mess with it we manage to screw it up! Now, I am NOT some sort of tree hugger. I dont think we should all eat crunchy granola and eschew any paper products. I do believe that the time has come to let nature manage what is left of old growth forests, and man can tree farm to his hearts content everywhere else.

Man cutting down trees is not exactly un-natural. wink.gif

Man going into the woods and destroying what is actually a pretty well balanced and delicate eco system IS unnatural.

Want to know what nature's way of making sure that there arent too many trees? It's called a forest fire.

The problem is that man has decided that we cant let that forest burn down, it's worth too muh money. Or someone decided the view was too good to pass up so they built there house there and we HAVE to save that.

Virtually everything we do is unnatural. Doesnt mean we shouldnt do it. It just means that we need to suck it up and be honest about our relationship with mother nature.

True, but we have to be responsible, or else will kill ourselves, which we are already doing, partly because of cutting forests.

the reason why our forests have burned at record rates this year is because environmental groups have obstructed forest management conducted by the U.S forestry service mostly via legal action!!!!

probably the vegetarians will be spared... tounge.gif

anyhow, I'm thinking that Bush's advisors are now really driving his chance of reelection further away. with corporate-sided actions like these, it's bound to piss ppl off, and they will cast their votes to someone else.

I doubt very much.

The voters demonstrated they were clueless in the first place, electing that guy to run the most powerful country in the world.

Is our children learning?

Bush may not be the best, but he is 1000x better than "Slick Willy" or Gore. We as humans do have a duty to take care of our world, but by cutting down more trees we will be helping, not hurting.

I wonder if you can buy a clue at Wal Mart?

Somehow I doubt it biggrin.gif

What you need to do is go to school in the fall, and find a biology teacher that specializes in botany and have them explain to you, in small words, what messing with an ecosystem can do.

Then come back and post in this thread again.

I hope this is not too much going off offtopic but didnt you people notice that in the early weeks of spring and summer girls are easily accessible. I mean to approach them and talk to them. Now in late summer they are all pissed off by silly and superficial men approaching them that they dont want to make any contacts anymore. That is ashame cause I get my spring-bunny feelings always in late summer tounge.gif

Where do I start with you brainwashed, get my news from Dan Rather, believe all the crap the liberal media and educators have falsely crammed down your throat, blind as a bat morons?

After 8 miserable years of Billy boy and Algore, my garbage man would have a better president than them. Thank God our system of electing people by electoral votes came through and George Bush was elected. If you don't understand the process, or why we elect our presidents with the electoral college, then go back to school.

Fact: there are more trees in North America now than there were 100 years ago. Believe it!!

The beautiful thing about a tree is what you make out of it.

An old and somewhat true saying that if your not a liberal at age 21, you have no heart. If your not a conservative by age 30, you have no brain. Looks like most of you are under 30 so we'll give you a little break.

I personally am proud to have George W. Bush as my president. He is a man of honor and integrity. No he doesn't speak with a Bill Clinton, "I feel your pain", "I did not have sex etc etc etc" crap we heard for eight years, but he speaks the truth and I for one believe in him.

Would you rather Algore in charge of our country? Have you read any of his blabbering nonsense in his book "earth in the balance?" Save me. If he had his way he would ban the internal combustion engine. I don't care to walk.

If you don't like Rush Limbaugh, you have never listened to him. 10 minutes doesn't cut it. Thank God we have someone that speaks for the rest of us out here. It helps even out the lies and BS that Dan Rather, Peter Perfect Jennings, James Carvell, Bill and Hillary, Tom Daschel, Ted Kennedy, Peta, NOW, The Sierra Club, The Baldwin brothers, Julia Roberts, Rosie O'Donell, Hollywood in general and all the other sick and twisted liberal nuts that are saying that will ruin this country. I could go on.

It's funny how so many responses on this thread are on one hand putting down the politics of this country, and in the same breath quotes like "I have better things to do with my time" than to listen or read about what is going on in this country. If you aren't informed on the goings on in the land, you are doomed to fail. Ignorance is no excuse.

I know this will light a fire under many an ass. The great thing about this country is the ability to speak your mind. I doubt I will respond back to what I believe will be a flurry of backlash to my response. I find it impossible to reason with a liberal mind. So have at it. I am comfortable with, and proud to have "W" as my president.

God Bless America and God Bless President George W. Bush

Three things:

1) No personal attacks on this forum. You managed to attack a whole group at once in one huge sentence, not bad confused.gif

2) Apart from educational institutions and media, where else are people supposed to get political knowledge from? From the pub down the road? Your local chip shop?

3) The media aren't liberal, the media operate for one reason only - to make a profit. They will cover stories (and portray them in different lights) to make money, not because they have a hidden agenda. Their agenda is to make money - simple as.

No, why should we? Not everyone is from the US.

I think I speak for a majority of people when I'm saying that your electoral college thing is absolutely rubbish and has nothing to do with a proper democracy, which the US claims to be through and through.

Very simplistic, there is more to the world than liberal and conservative.

Never mind the fact that even liberal and conservative aren't absolute statements and need to be defined for a debate.

What's so bad about that? There are a lot of other means for providing propulsing energy, most if not all of them more friendly to the environment.

Two weeks after the attacks on the WTC, some people criticised some aspect or other of the US in public. Those people were lecturers at university and similar occupations. Someone reported them and they were fired immediately. Nice freedom. You give people enough freedom so they can hang themselves with that freedom. Cool.

Tell me, do you really think NOTHING would happen if I would be standing outside of the White House with a big poster saying "George, you are a wanker"?

If you think that one batch of politicians lies, but another doesn't, and that this has to do anything with their political party or orientation, then I must say this is the worst case of political naiviety I have seen.

my first response from Gadzoo post would be a little finger salute...but that's how republicans work smile.gif so i'll do better.

it is fun to see that electoral college yielded fun result. before election, ppl guessed that electoral college system would work in favor of Gore and against Bush. if i remember correctly, Bush was a bit worried about that. but thanx to creative interpretation of votes, Bush managed to shag himself into White house. According to our great congress, our founding fathers wanted EVERY head to be counted. so no statistical method was imployed in last one.

however, when it came to the point where votes are concerned Republicans(the same one who said no to statistics) calls some statistics professor in and tries to argue withit...how nice smile.gif

well, don't mind if i do, but american conservatives(at least Republicans) lack heart and brain. they claim something is imooral, yet they do it behind their backs biggrin.gif

yes..Bush will need A LOT of blessings from the Lord to make it through this term biggrin.gif

impossible to reason? usually its republicans that are hard to reason with. they always have double standars. smile.gif

Cheneys daughters are lebians. I neve heard Cheney denouce them like their peer Republicans do to other "liberal" homosexuals.

and welcome to the communitry and your first post smile.gif

well, we all know what happened to Bill Maher.

as soon as he said "We were cowards. instead of going in and get them, we lobbed some missiles. those guys drove planes into the building, they are not cowards." Ari Fisher's official reply was, "People should watch what they are saying."

now this is funny cause there are 2 idiotic points.

1.misinterpretation of statement. Mahers comment was that we should have done better in the first try. meaning that Clinton should have staged war on Afghanistan back then. I'm pretty sure Republicans would have backed it up then biggrin.gifwink.gif

2."Watch what they are saying". This is obviously a very nice way to say what kind of stance they are in. If they are truly into protecting our freedom and rights, they should have said "Understand thy neighbor's words" instead of "Watch what you are saying"

Shutting up those who speak against the current opinion can be quite practical and accepted when the great masses agree with the government. One should however look it at the big picture where such censorship can permanently damage the possibility to criticize the government even when the opinion is against it.

I think it was really sad what happened to Bill Maher.

i'm not talking about his show getting cancelled. i'm talking about his statement getting flamed. his show was loosing it(ratings) anyways. I doubt if it survived more than additional season.
