WildCat01 10 Posted September 20, 2013 Hi, Arma 3 is my fist Arma game. Is there a way to get the a-10 plane into the game? I need to buy some addons?
CSLALUKI 30 Posted September 20, 2013 Yes. You have to create your own model with textures and config.
WildCat01 10 Posted September 20, 2013 Hmm... soo... how to play CAS missions without the MOST important and best CAS platform? I am soooo disappointed, bought this game to play CAS with my friend :(
marcai 1 Posted September 20, 2013 Remember that the A-10 is already quite a bit past its original use-by-date, and Arma is set 20 years from now in an alternate universe. The A-10 may well be decommissioned in the Armaverse. Alternatively, the A-10 or a sucessor will appear in a later patch or update! They already exist in the form of the All In Arma mod, but that requires buying Arma 2 as well. It may even be modded in as a standalone later. Essentially, time will tell for you I'm afraid! chortles 263 Posted September 20, 2013 Hmm... soo... how to play CAS missions without the MOST important and best CAS platform? I am soooo disappointed, bought this game to play CAS with my friend :(For now, you'll have to use one of the helicopters or the A 143 Buzzard (AG) -- and play missions with them included. (The A 143 Buzzard is a by-default AAF-faction aircraft, but a mission where a A 143 Buzzard is placed as Empty will allow a NATO or CSAT pilot to get in manually.) Also, the developers' CEO has said that they "are going to release the entire Arma 2 library to the community and allow them create any derivative work within Arma 3", so you can expect an A-10 mod one day. :)As far as mods go... for fixed-wing there's Gnat's Cessna 185 Skywagon (one of the versions in it has rocket pods but only a few rockets), John_Spartan and Saul's F/A-18E/F (currently it only has a multirole loadout but this weekend should have an update that allows you to customize its loadout), and there's J0nes' AC-130X. goldenfiver 11 Posted September 20, 2013 Hmm... soo... how to play CAS missions without the MOST important and best CAS platform? I am soooo disappointed, bought this game to play CAS with my friend :( There wasn't a single hint or indication that the A-10 is going to be in A3 anyways (no screenshots, no videos.). IMHO, If you bought the game just to play CAS you are missing a whole lot
spanishsurfer 58 Posted September 20, 2013 Wildcat, if you want to play the A-10 you'll need to download and install a mod called All in Arma. However, to use this mod you will have to own a copy of Arma 2. The mod allows you to use any Arma 2 content in Arma 3. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O6xfn-Fn8j4
chortles 263 Posted September 20, 2013 Or wait for someone to release an A-10 mod.
kremator 1065 Posted September 20, 2013 Looks like someone bought Arma3 before seeing what was to be released! Remember the setting is also 2035 ... A10s around then ? Doubt it !
WildCat01 10 Posted September 20, 2013 OK, form the beginning :] Arma is an easy and fun way to practice CAS, especially Talk-on that when you don`t have a POD is best with a slow and plane. I did not check that there is no A-10 and that the game is 2035... my fault, but when i was typing Arma 3 and A-10 i saw a lot of them ;] So now for the solution :] All in Arma and witch Arma? Arma 2 or Operation Arrowhead or COMBINED OPERATIONS? And P.S. If you don`t know how REAL CAS works pls don`t wright about it, thx :]
trent 14 Posted September 20, 2013 Purchase Arma 2 (original). Install it, install AllInArma to Arma 3 and configure it. You can now go to Empty -> Air in the editor and add A-10 (and any other Arma 2 vehicles) though it will have some minor issues.
