moerty 0 Posted August 19, 2002 http://www.theregister.co.uk/content/54/26728.html i heard they were working on this a while ago, looks like it's finally close to finished. i wonder if it'll work for choppers also.
KingBeast 0 Posted August 19, 2002 Hmm a very interesting concept. Nice to Britain at the forefront of military design. Its been a while
RedRogue 0 Posted August 19, 2002 Not really a "force field" but apparently effective never the less. Being and Electronic Engineer Major I would love to know how they generate the voltage and amperage levels required multiple times over without a severe load on the electrical system. Grey Fox 0 Posted August 19, 2002 Wouldn't that be nice in OFP so would not get blown away by some RPG soldier while your casually driving your M2A2 into a wall of enemy troops?
Mister Frag 0 Posted August 19, 2002 That is one hell of a bug zapper!

Grey Fox 0 Posted August 19, 2002 What other kinda of Light Anti-Tank weapons should we have to worry about. And what about a countermeasure for ATGMs?

USSoldier11B 0 Posted August 20, 2002 Cool idea until your battery dies or alternator is shot. Anyone got jumper cables?
RedRogue 0 Posted August 20, 2002 Generator, not alternator. Tisk, Tisk.
Col. Kurtz 0 Posted August 20, 2002 A good book on this subject is 'Trigger' done by Arthur C. Clark(or whatever his name is) who did 2001:A Space Oddeysey along with lots of other books. Its a fictional story of a bunch of scientists in the near future in America who make a device that detonates any explosives in the radius of its force field. i liked it, it went into all the oppsosition from numerous groups including the NRA over their 'security' been taken away in public places. What they didnt seem to cath on about was, that if you couldnt use your gun, neither could the people who you arm yourselfs to protect yourslef against!
