Canal+ is a tv channel (not cable nor sat channel)that is private and not accessed to the public.... u must sign a contract to see it ot it's encrypted

And C+ pass a porn film each first saturday of the month late at night.

But with the action buying of Universal, and the place that universal take in the investitor i think that this ll change of policy

if u need translation i can do it

notice : and for your info christine boutin is a hard member of the parliament thought whe belong to the Right she got idea that have more a extrem-right (le pen party) tendency, and hard-christian idea . By example with the "contract of civil union" (a way to legalize the living without mariage) or PACS in french abbreviate, she was one of the leader of the contestation of this:

just becse the first part of the Law proposed have no reference about sex about the PACSer. Therefore the first PACS bills was aimed to have homosexual as PACSer. But what Misses Boutin missed is that in the free-union (ie no marriage just a living each other) the women or the men sometime that participated to a commerce with the men/women he/she live got no salary.... u see the problem when he/she broke with the owner of the commerce *thought the judge have done rules about that, but there was proof to give b4 get in the legal rights*

Christine boutin represent the summum of the harsh catholic and bigot in france as political member of parliament smile.gif

Wggum....... i think that it is trying to use an advertising technique that is used lots in france.........the USA is seen to have a particular image in france and if stuff sounds american some people will buy it............Harley Davidson, Marlboro, Lucky strike, Jonny Halliday....

English speaking people wuold buy wine if it sounds french

for example.....Chateau Clochard...........!! biggrin.gif

because they associate the 'french'name with high quality wines

Ralph i think u knew very well the english.... but i ll do a little lesson for you:

English is based upon anglo-saxon speechcraft, but one time a normand Duke William the conqueror did invade the GB and take the crown:

Hence william speaked his native langage, the "old french"; so that u can find french word stolen by english in all english-based tongue:

there's an easy way to find them, just find a word that mean exactly with no difference the same as another one.Like a synonim but more than a synonim (synonim sometime have differences in context... i speak from words that can be exchanged always in every context).

One word is from normen, the other is from saxon part of GB.

Other words can be related to french tongue and stolen by english:

the famous example is "to flirt" in french it was "conter florette" (the signification is more romantic.... if i translate directly it's "to speech from flower to another ppl").

by example:

castle and manor.... manor is a normen's word and can be related to "manoir" in french (the pronuncation too is very close)

So who stole what ? (model in french is translated "modÄle".... so i guess it's the second kind):

English did take the word to the french tongue wink.gif

******for your info i still believe ingame that a guy that say me "speak english" and if i say "why?", "english is an international tongue".... well it's this kind of guy that need to learn a foreign tongue (last 5 years some foreign translator were engaged in St Francisco just becse the native translator was so bad). USA got a big problem with ego i think (and lazzyness but ahem wow.gif ). Remember what the singer Sting said "learning a different tongue is to open doors" *******

yes, i'm very aware of other languages in English. like halt(from German), chateau(from French).

just that i was curous why 'Top Model' was in the advertisement. Because as far as i knew, English was a no-no in France due to a law.

Thankfully, ran explained it in his context.

and let's face it. UK had so much colony that spread over the globe that you'll more likely meet someone who understands Englsih than French wink.gif

merde <=> shit in english

nike ta mÄre or NTM *rap group name* or nique te mÄre <=> fuck your mother....

I hope the modos wont be angry, i just translated...

And for "clochard" abbrev "clodos" or "cloche" <=> homeless ppl

Well i hope you wont only memorize only the slang terms.... becse i dont think that's the main thing to understand in a tongue.

If u want my opinion: english and french are based upon german tongue.... so they got common ancestor in words. German is the main adds for the english, but not for the french (instead we have a strong basis of latin so i can say that italian is nearest to the french than the english).

But in Europe with many wars and invasion and population movement: i only know one tongue that can be called as native's french tongue:

the "Basque"

(south west part of france, and north west part of spain). *i give u a clue they got a strong nationalist revolutionnary group that bother alot Spain Gvt*

My normal natural tongue in my land is the "Breton", from brittany  where i live. Britanny was the last part of land to belong to the former realm of france.... and for the basic of speach it's more like the Gaelic, by example a guy good in "breton" can understand very well a Wales guy without any translation.
