Bob_Boberston 0 Posted August 15, 2002 (I think this is the forum I should post this in.) Anyone else think the russian boat is gimp'd? Its got ONE 7.62MM PK that a normal troop could do better with. It only fires out of the back and the gunner is easly hit by a sniper. Meanwhile the american boat has twin 50cal guns on the front of the boat and can see kinda behind the boat. The gunner is also much harder to hit. And I belive the american gun has 3x more ammo. So anyone w/ O2 wanna make a not-so-gimp'd russian boat for me? munger 25 Posted August 15, 2002 You're right that it's weak compared to the US equivalent. Probably because the Russians don't have their own HMG and it would be wrong to have a .50 on their boat. They could at least have a PK at the front where it would be useful - having it at the back with a limited firing arc is almost pointless. Of course, in reality the American gunboat is armed to the teeth with twin .50's on the front, a minigun and either an M60 or another .50 at the back. B@ZOOkA 0 Posted August 15, 2002 yes your right... ofp is a great game but i get so depressed when i play with that russian boat.... i think im gonna kill my self.... to be a bit more serious... i think its not sooo important if the russian boat is a bit to weak or not.... in fact you cant really make good seabattles with those small boats ..and another point is that its realistic like that i think... has anyone pictures of that russian boat in reality? Jester983 0 Posted August 16, 2002 I agree the russian boat needs some work but i prefer it over the PBR like for beach landings (i.e. D day missions) cause it can hold more. Paratrooper 0 Posted August 16, 2002 The boat is useless in attack, but the gun gives a little defence after dropping off troops and pulling away from the shore. Use it for what it is good at!
