The current coastline in Arma 3

The current coastline in Arma 3 is both beautiful and the best yet, but it has many problems that have followed from past Arma games and new problems from the new water simulation. Since both maps are islands that are completely surrounded by coastline, I feel we should intelligently discuss these problems by bringing them too light and finding solutions to them.

Problems include but are not limited to: no crashing waves on the beach, transition animations, water visibility were the waves should be crashing, Sand and it's affect on movement in vehicles and on foot.

The water looks like it loses all fluidity once it reaches any shoreline in ArmA. It simply just forms an angle to whatever terrain it is on and looks very unnatural.

For this island is more typical beaches of pebbles than sand.

Kamino coast

Ground is strengthened by plants and stones. It's not so "sandy".

Wow, I would really like to see waves rolling up the beach, by the way, am I the only one who thinks that waves should be higher if you put them on maximum?

Yea, the current max wave heigh is pretty short. And I made a ticket a while back about having waves rolling up the beach if your interested: http://feedback.arma3.com/view.php?id=10569

While I agree rolling waves on the beach would be nice, it's also really highly unlikely. That said, they definitely need to do something about the current beaches because it looks pretty horrible for 2013...

If nothing else was changed with water, this is the one thing that I would want to be changed, though it looks like after a wave has hit maybe but it never goes down again.

I was going to suggest having a look at Skyrim's 'fix' for waves in the Dragonborn expansion, where the illusion of waves was given near the shore. I then Youtube'd a clip for a demonstration and remembered that it looked a bit... meh. Far too fast and warpy, but still worth a peek for giving a static water the appearance of motion without having to rework it in its entirety, which I'm sure is the far more likely outcome were this to be addressed.
