uk100 10 Posted May 31, 2013 I seem to be able to acquire targets with the KA-60's (square indicator around target), and lock on to them (when the target's in front of me, a diamond indicator appears on top of the square one, shrinks a bit and then stays steady forming an 8 pointed star). But when I fire, the rockets always seem to fly directly towards the crosshairs. Am I missing something?

uk100 10 Posted May 31, 2013 Not really, no. How am I supposed to guide them?
nodunit 397 Posted May 31, 2013 You don't, just fire in the general direction and the rocket guides itself. I wonder though, DAGR is a bit of a misnomer since the difference between a Rocket and Missile was originally the difference of guided and unguided, if the rocket can guide itself then isn't now technicly a less powerful missile? byku 13 Posted May 31, 2013 (edited) There is a slight bug in stable patch, the rockets are not exactly accurate when fired upon locked target ;) (at least it was like it... i didn't play stable patch for a while :P). Fixed in dev patches ;). Edited May 31, 2013 by Byku
uk100 10 Posted May 31, 2013 For me on the vanilla beta, they don't seem to be steered in flight at all. Just checked in an editor mission and they seem to behave pretty much like the AH-9's rockets, only difference I can see is in the behaviour of the targeting overlay as described above. Plus the selected target is marked on the radar. So they should behave similarly to Arma2 Mavericks etc even if less accurate? If so, this seems to be a bug for me... St. Jimmy 272 Posted May 31, 2013 (edited) Myke;2404987']DirectAttack Guided Rocket Solved? ;) /Oh they've finally fixed those. They didn't work before when auto guide at was off in difficulty options Yep they are guided and you need to be faced on target pretty well to hit. uk100 10 Posted June 3, 2013 Nope, I've just checked in my Game Difficulty setttings and "Auto Guide AT" is enabled. As per my original post, I'm firing only when I get the "8 pointed star" targeting indicator, and there is no discernable steering in flight at all.
Harzach 2517 Posted June 3, 2013 Just tried it, latest dev build. Works fine regardless of autoguide AT. Dead-nuts accurate on static targets, tracks moving targets fairly well, given a proper lead.
Smurf 12 Posted June 3, 2013 Your point of aim must be somewhat close to the locked target, otherwise the rocket won't track it. Had no problem at all with it on the helo showcase. Wonder if the guiding systems will all be like that simple.
uk100 10 Posted June 3, 2013 I guess the only thing I can do is record a video to demonstrate the issue I am experiencing. And probably start a new thread in Troubleshooting, unless someone can move this one?
carnage-twg 10 Posted June 3, 2013 I had a bit of trouble initially with the guided rockets. You do have to keep your reticle close to the target, but lead the target a bit without losing the lock. I've also found if I wait for the target to be coming almost directly towards me, or going away from me, the automatic guidance happens more frequently (since you generally do not have to lead the target due to the angle). azz_er 10 Posted June 4, 2013 I think you have to right click as well to start the lock then wait until everything lines up then fire? Not sure but they have been working for me fine :)
