Hushpappy 0 Posted July 25, 2002 I have a P4 1.8 + 256DDR and GeForce2 200. but still, OFP loads shows the logo .. but then poouff .. nothing, i return to the desktop. before the Geforce i had 3dfx and it worked fine. i have Windows XP.. and yes .. i have waited for some time in a matter of fact i'm still waiting ... Â reinstall the game, been there .. done that .. ain't going to do it tomorrow. should i download any patch or somtning ... i have the newest nvidia drivers.. anyone has an idea? ALDEGA 0 Posted July 25, 2002 Did you uninstall the 3DFX drivers? Have you set OFpreferences to use D3D (HW T&L)? Was that 3DFX card a PCI one? If so make sure you've got a correct AGP miniport driver. Have you run the 3D tests in DXDIAG? Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Hushpappy 0 Posted July 25, 2002 Hi, For the last reply .. yeah, i got a brand new computer. so i don't have any other drivers except geforce. and for the ver. number, i guess that if i could see the ver. number on the screen i have never have posted here..  but.. i hav'nt done any upgrade from the net at all. mmmm, should i   ? and what number, can you give me a link or somthing .. thanks, Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
WhoCares 0 Posted July 25, 2002 To bring the topic back on track... :bigbigbiggrin: Since the release in June '01 of version 1.00 in Europe there have been several updates. I guess it would be best to check Avons FAQ and search for things like patch, version or update. US version was released in September '01, what brought OFP to V1.20. Optional there was an upgrade available to patch the european version and it added some more missions and units. Together with the release of Codemasters Red Hammer Campaign (bundled with OFP to Gold Edition) an upgrade to V1.30 was available for download. Final official update to 'basic' OFP is version 1.46. However, there is also a Multiplayer-Beta-Test of version 1.60 available, that is quite popular. Up to this versions 1.46/1.60 all patches are available for free. (but of course you get not the Red Hammer campaign with them...) Recently the new Expansion 'Resistance' was released by BIS (with new island, weapons and campaign). It brings OFP to version 1.75. There is no free patch to this version available (and it is not said that there will ever be such a free patch! You can get all the free patches and updates at the Download section of this page. You can find download pages of the 1.60Beta in the MPTest section of the forum. Note that you can play Multiplayer only with the same version as the server. That's the reason why the MP community is currently split up in 3 parts, those sticking with 1.46 or 1.60, because they don't have/want Resistance (yet?) and those with 1.75... You should definatly update to one of these versions. They fixed many bugs since 1.00 (and introduced some new ones ) and added new weapons, units and other features... And for complete confusion, there is a seperate czech/polish version of the game (and of course for the updates...) Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
