Exporting User Made Missions

Recommended Posts

Hello,

Not sure if this is because of my Arma3 Alpha install, but.

When I create a mission in the editor, and then Export it, it never shows up in my Single Player/Scenarios list.

In addition, all of my previous made missions have disappeared. Really can’t remember when I last saw them there, if it was before I installed Arma3 or not.

HELP…….:butbut:

Hi, first off, are we talking about missions in A2 or in A3? but not much differents in how misssions are made/saved and played. once you made a mission you need to save it as singleplayer or as multiplayer(hit save as, change from usermission to single player, hit save and it will be saved to singleplayer missions and will work fine.

dont know what you mean by exporting but without saving the mission as SP or MP it will not work(i think). there are also some topics on this forum on how to make and save missions and how to set it up,

Thank you but I have been saving my missions for about 3 years in Arma2. For some reason it is not working now. I check to see if they were getting moved over to Arma3 but they weren't. It is very strange....

So to update:

None of my previous saved mission are now listed in my single player/scenarios list.

I can't remember when I last saw/played them.

I have installed the Army of the Checkrepublic and Arma 3 Alpha since I last was able to play them.

The other problem I have is when playing the campaign for ACR it won't allow me to save my progress or revert at all.

Could these be related?

Hi

it might be an ArmA 3 problem. I got ArmA CO with all expansions and I do not experience any problems with exporting to Single player. I do not own Arma 3 so therefore I wouldn't know.

Can someone write out the correct file path to user made single player and multiplayer missions? I think that is part of the problem. I uninstalled ACR but it is still not saving my missions.

Okay. I think I may have found the real issue. When I installed ACR, I was unable to save and play a mission. I kept getting the error "You can not edit... this mission due to downloaded content that has been deleted; rksl.system cacharacters_acr.

Now where do I get this file from???????

---------- Post added at 11:35 ---------- Previous post was at 11:05 ----------

okay, still getting the error but now I am only missing cacharacters.acr where do I get this from.

Rksl system is one of addons made by rksl studio, check on armaholic. You will have error message "cant play edit" if you made mission and this addon was enabled and now you dont have him on hdd or he is disabled when you try to launch this mission.

I think I added an addon for Russian Air planes ect. If I remove this addon, will I be good to go?

Okay,

I have removed @WingsofRussia and all of the RKSL files. Now I have no errors, and I can save a game in progress and come back to it later. BUT, I still can't export a single player mission I created in the Editor. So my original issue still exists.

Not sure what else to do now. It seems my Arma2 will not create a PBO for my created missions. I will test out the MP side, even though I never do multiplayer.

Any advice would be appreciated.

The any mp missions you had exported in the editor will showup in the mpmissions folder in the main Arma2 directory as a pbo.

It seems my Arma2 will not create a PBO for my created missions.

If you make a copy of the usermission folder it will still work if you put a copy in the scenarios (missions folder).

Unless you plan on releasing your mission and submitting to Armaholic, it shouldn't really matter whether the mission is pbo'd

or not, and then to you can pbo it yourself with a tool. Also as you should know already you can play all your missions in the editor, why export it?

1. No. I tried to create a MP mission but it didn't show up.

2. Not working as you explained it. I tried to manually move missions from folder to folder. I still can't get a stright answer on the file path.

I did finally figure out how to get my mission in PBO. I exported the mission to email and got the PBO. I saved it to my desk type. I copied the mission to my Arma2/profiles/missions folder but it still doesn't show up in my Single Player list.

I double clicked on the mission on my desk top and I can play the mission, but no briefing screan comes up. I save the mission as I go along, and reload if I need to, but I can't come back to the mission later to Resume.

Gunter,

I like to export my missions due to my missions are long. I like to save my progress and come back to them letter. Most of my missions are Recon Patrols in a Russian invested Chernerus. And I play as if it were real time, meaning they days and months to finish.

Missions aren't lost if you dont export them, just save them as usermissions, and they will be available, to reedit in the editor.

Exporting creates a pbo and only saves a copy of the usermission in the missions folder in the Arma2 directory, the original mission created also known as a usermission is in the editor,

always save as a usermission if you plan on reediting your mission!!

If you export right away without saving then you will be forced to go to the main arma2 directory and open the pbo to get your mission then move it back to the editor folder.

Follow my tutorial, also use as reference, some things apply where others dont, but heres 2 I mad a while back:

How to import SP/MP Missions into the editor

http://warmod.webs.com/importmissiontoeditor.htm

This also deals with exporting as well, but it should give you folder references, and other things.

Thank you Gunter,

I always create and save my missions in the editor. It takes me a long time to make a mission. The reason I want the ability to export my missions is so that I can play them like any other mission and have the ability to save and come back later to Resume my mission where I left off. I lost that ability and need to figuire out how to get that back as it is suppose to be with out having to uninstall and do a full reinstall. Which would suck too much of my time.

Any help on how to fix this broken game feature would be greatly appreciated. I know I broke it when I installed @WingsofRussia and the RKSL system. I removed them and got most of my game functionality back. Exect I lot the ability to export my missions.

Now I have moved my PBO'd missions into my missions forlder but the game does not see them.

Any help would be appreciated.

Help me Obiwan you are my only hope...

Saving has to do with what difficulty option you have the game set on, unless you specify by code in a mission.

Go to Options on the menu, then to game options, and difficulty, and scroll down and see if you have unlimited saves disabled.

No it is not disabled.

I can save and reload the mission while I am in the editor. And if I play any of the BI campaigns or missions, I can save and come back later. That stopped working when I installed @WingsofRussia and the RKSL system, and ACR. I have removed them all, and now I can save any campaign or single player mission.

I dont' think you understtand my issue.

When I create mission in the mission editor, and then Export to single or mp, they do not get export. Nothing happens. Now I can export to email and get my mission into a PBO format. And when I move the mission over to missions, the game still does not see it. So I can not play the mission from Single Player/Scenarios. Which means I can not save or resume it later because the mission is not there to begin with.

I will do another search of the forums to see if this has happened to any one else. Otherwise I will have to do a full reinstall.........:(

Can you point me to the Wings of Russia download you are using? Because I can't recreate this with the files i have.

If it is the Sarmat IL76 (Wings of Russia) it includes a badly hacked version of the RKSL system. Don't use it. Get the official one from ArmAholic.

I get all of my downloads from ArmAholic. I am not at home, so I can't see it, but it was the one with the huge transport plane that was white. But I had to download the RKSL to make it work. At the same time I downloaded ACR. The erorr I was getting had to do with the Wings of russia and RKSL issues.

I may just do a complete reinstall of Arma 2 this weekend....

Well I've tried with the Wing of Russia pack off ArmAholic and the RKSL System and I have no issues at all. Well I have a shit load of issues thanks to the IL76 but when I use the "official" RKSL System and rksl-ArmA2.pbo I dont have any problem exporting SP or MP games. I've asked several others to test too and (so far) no one else has been able to replicate this issue.

Are you running the game as administrator?, that would stop the pbo from being created normally on vista/7 if your not running the game as admin

Don't know what to say. Once I removed them all of the errors I was getting went away of most of to my problems went away. And yes it was the IL76. But I still can't export to single player missions. I can create the PBO using Export to Mail, but then when I save the mission to my mission folder, it still does not come up in my list of missions.

I was having the same problem with PBO not being created in my single player scenarios. Thanks mate. Something so simple but it gave me grief for ages. Run as admin and it works fine.:yay:
