Duke_of_Ray 0 Posted July 18, 2002 What OFP needs is some Biplanes, and maybe even a triplane. Could have some really neat multiplayer fun with an addon like this.

HellToupee 0 Posted July 18, 2002 yep i would like a biplane with one gunner on the back and a pilot that would rock.
Hudson 0 Posted July 18, 2002 Now this is a real good idea, I wonder if anyone is making a WWI mod. Good old fashioned dogfight, gets me wet just thinking about it.
Intruder 0 Posted July 18, 2002 I would like a Bf-110 (or something similar) with a rear gunner
.236 1 Posted July 18, 2002 This got me thinking, and I think OFP is extremely well suited to a WW1 mod or even a new bloody game. All I can see right now, where it might not perform well is if (I'm not familier with the WW1 airwar, only ww2) all out realism requires 10 hours bombing runs, like in ww2.......... you'll kinda run out of map room real quick. But apart from that I think OFP will be bloody gr8 for a ww1 mod: WW1 isnt as dynamic and fast paced as modern day, 1985 warfare and thus the 12.5km map sizes will be more than enough. Hell we've allready got the bunker packs and hence trenches. The slow ass bi-planes will fit in perfectly.
Intruder 0 Posted July 18, 2002 And some early tanks. Also you can get trench foot now and then The weapons and equipment are probably easy to make for this sort of MOD. No guided missiles or jets. Just good old dumb bombs, rockets, shells and grenades.
peeps 0 Posted July 18, 2002 ww1 was extremely stand still, it ended up with basically 2 trenches and no mans land in between and since opf cannot do trenches it won't work all that well. (unless trenches can be done by the map creator somehow?
Hudson 0 Posted July 18, 2002 </span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote (peeps @ July 18 2002,08:44)</td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">ww1 was extremely stand still, it ended up with basically 2 trenches and no mans land in between and since opf cannot do trenches it won't work all that well. (unless trenches can be done by the map creator somehow?<span id='postcolor'> With the resistance upgrade we now have the ability to use a 5 meter grid size on islands as opossed to the old 50 meter grid size. This should allow for a more realistic trench.
Frisbee 0 Posted July 18, 2002 there's the bunkerpack with trenches, they look good imho but soemhow i think WW1 was too standstill. First the germans shell everyone's antiquated cavalry and whatnot to a pulp, trenches are dug, artillery barrages that do no damaga becasue of the fortifications, and then storms to a fully defended enemy line...Madness

(unless trenches can be done by the map creator somehow?<span id='postcolor'> As far as I know, trenches are still impossible with the OFP graphics engine...however.... our good GFX-707 has created a trench addon that works quite well actually. Well at least as long as guys don't lay down it, but that can be fixed with a [this setunit pos "up";] script in the unit's init box. I was working on a Vietnam "Tet Offensive" map using the Jungle Everon map. However I'm not sure if that addon works in Resistance. But yeah I think a WWI mod would be well worth doing. Now if only BIS could create some horse animations and of coarse horses. Oh...and also of coarse...BAYONETS!!! Chris G. aka-Miles Teg<GD>
Adammo 0 Posted July 18, 2002 This thread gave me an idea.. how about a large paper airplane to fly around with? lol that would be a lot of fun.. and pretty easy to mod too. It would be foldered into an airplane and you just walkover and sit down inside it.. then take off.. :) Capt Moore
