RED 0 Posted September 17, 2002 I play OFP MP allot and love it, I am just thankful that BIS are making a patch. If they released the patch now and it contained bugs you would just moan at that right? RED
nyles 11 Posted September 17, 2002 I fully agree that they should take their time to polish (errrr czech ) the patch, but it would have been nice to get some feedback of what to expect. I assume they want to create some tension that way to keep people interested, but I fear that slowly the first players are starting to turn away in frustration for good because there is few or almost no information passed over from BIS. Probably it's not neccessary any more as the patch will most likely be released soon'ish, but I hope that they learn from this experience and improve their news sharing with the community for any further updates we might get some day. At least I would really appreciate some small bits on info for a span of 2-3 months. *shrug* Â
RED 0 Posted September 17, 2002 I love not knowing what will be in the patch it makes getting it all the better. It is the same when you buy a game, if you don't know what the storyline is, it should be more enjoyable. But I do agree that knowing patch dates etc would be nice. Espectro (DayZ) 0 Posted September 17, 2002 </span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote (Sh@d0w_Killer @ Sep. 17 2002,16:43)</td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">You guy's must not play on a daily basis or you would be a little upset...my point is that they have been promising a patch for quite sometime now..I play everyday and with ofp(cold war crisis) they released several patches right off the bat to fix some of the major crisis. And now with resistance we have some major bugs, just look at the threads...All we are asking for is a temp patch to fix the major bugs like the ammo crate bug and the ghost player bug..fix these 2 and i will shut up....and if you got nothing better to do than flame me for asking for some info on the patch...get a life <span id='postcolor'> Im glad they want to finnish the patch and settle for as many bugs as possible. As you can read yourself, the current version is not compatible to 1.75 meaning they had to create a new server .exe etc. Also, im sure they want to publish the Linux server file as well on the same time. If they should release all that sperately and develop it seperately we would have to wait a long time before playing a bug-free product. Think before you moan! Sh@d0w_Killer 1 Posted September 18, 2002 Who's moaning,it was a simple statement to BIS about releasing some info and the patch. For your info, there is no such thing as a "bug free" product.Anything made by man has a chance for human error in it...We play ofp for the fun(unlike some of you guy's who act like it's a life or death match everytime you play)and it is a stuggle to enjoy the game we love when we have to re-boot the server every 5 min's to get rid of a ghost player. Fine,i'll shut up now so Espectro won't say i'm moaning... but if Suma would like to send us a small fix patch for our server so we can be playing ofp instead of being flamed by some @#$%head who don't really know me or the thousands like me out there playing ofp-r
ralphwiggum 6 Posted September 18, 2002 as stated numerous times by other members, patch has no definitive time. SUMA wants to make sure we get critical problems fixed as much as possible. so hold on.
Tex -USMC- 0 Posted September 18, 2002 Lord willing and the river don't rise. I dont care when it comes out, but if its another few weeks I expect nothing less than a 50 mb patch
Guest Posted September 18, 2002 No point in keeping this thread open, really. The BIS test server is gone and speculations about the upcoming patch are really pointless. We'll just have to wait and see
