Change medic system

Recommended Posts

I find it's a pity That ArmA uses the same system as ArmA 2.

I mean, in ArmA 2, only the medic of our team/group could heal us.

If we had no medic, but another group had one, well, the guy wouldnt do anything for us.

If i remember well, in ArmA 1, the player could go and see whatever medic - even if the guy didn't belong to his team - and he had an option "heal to medic", which was much better.

Why not doing the same in ArmA 3?

maybe I misunderstood you, but it seems to work for me if I place myself as a medic in the editor, if I shoot a friendly soldier (not in my squad) I can heal him.

It's not exactly the same with the First Aid Kit though is it - you don't have unlimited heals, do you? The First Aid Kit is a better implementation from that POV.

the medic has unlimited heals, other soldiers have a single first aid kit that prevent them from bleeding out

I just wish they would make a new heal animation, and they more then likely will.

What I mean is when you are not a medic, the only way to get healed is either find a hospital/medic truck or to ask the Medic of your team.

You can't get healed by the medic of another unit, the guy will ignore you.

In ArmA 1, you could go and see a medic who didn't belong to your unit: there was an action "heal to medic".

That way, even if the guy wasnt in your team, you could get healed.

It was much better.

They disabled it because it was annoying in MP (and SP too) since you could just occupy the other medic whenever you wanted. Even if a player playing as said medic didn't want it (like trying to get out from under fire) - he had no choice.

You don't want this behavior to come back.

yeah, I got your point.

however, when you're hurt (leg, arm, whatever) and no medic in your squad BUT the other squad has a medic, well you can't get healed, which is quite stupid.

just looks like the guy says "no, you're not my mate, I won't heal you"...

not only stupid but quite annoying too, as it make you finish the mission crawling or not able to aim right
