tortuosit 486 Posted March 13, 2013 (edited) Hi, after we press "Preview" in the editor, we soon see a 15-step progress bar on top of screen. And have to wait for about 15 seconds. But if e.g. after 2 seconds we ALT-TAB out and go back in, we're already in game. So if that "everybody's gotta wait 15 second" is not a socialist idea ;), please remove it. Less time waste for Arma scene -> more user made content ;) Time is money... EDIT: Further reports here, guys: http://feedback.arma3.com/view.php?id=95 (thx Ezcoo) Michael Edited March 13, 2013 by tortuosit
Hammerballz 10 Posted March 13, 2013 Waiting that time has actually a Reason. This can be waiting for Scripts to load, Waiting for your computer to load all the Terrain and Textures. I would not call that Time wasting..
tortuosit 486 Posted March 13, 2013 When you say "has a reason" you're not saying this is your assumption? The progress bar is skippable AND all stuff has been loaded... Also: why is it waiting the same time on all kinds of computers, no matter if old/new cpu, SSD or ooold hd,,, No it's tasting bad for me. It feels like it could be easily fixed. It feels like waiting time could vary depending on the computer speed/size of the mission.
SAMstudios-3Dartist 45 Posted March 13, 2013 this question again. I am sure you have som blufor soldier in your mission right? it is a problem with the mx rifles that make it take so long to load. If you only place out opfore soldier or civilians with no blufor soldier it starts nearly in a second.

GranolaBar 10 Posted March 13, 2013 (edited) Hi men, INSTANT LOADING work's : ) , It's an alpha, it's works already if you don't use BLUFOR Unit (problem with them) ->>> Actually : Some issues about the time of loading and great news for the instant loading in the future : ) : http://feedback.arma3.com/view.php?id=95#c105 (more links on alpha tracker : http://feedback.arma3.com/view.php?id=3044 ) PS : I test the tips of the guy(s) and that's work. Exemple of few tips : (but it's better to wait a great patch for BLUFOR Unit. ) In the editor, For instant loading : You can place a civilian or an OFPFOR Unit. There is problem with BLUFOR Unit. To cut the loading time with BLUFOR, use alt+tab when you loading. Edited March 13, 2013 by GranolaBar News Infos

b00tsy 28 Posted March 13, 2013 I agree, even an empty map with just one unit on it takes 20 secs to load. And as there is no 3D editor you have to check the position of every placed object several times, so it is taking ages to set up some thing nice.

Read my answer and please go on alpha tracker for problem in the alpha. And For 3d Editor, maybe we have it in the final game, maybe not and maybe we can have it with mod, actually few movies about experimental mods with 3d editor were on the net. Few solution at this time, a great mod on arma 2 that can be found on Arma 3 : Virtual Battle Training by L'Etranger, you can have a mission with a 3d Editor and few functions.
