I have tons of reasons to not like the starwars mod and to not like the idea of having it. I know to bad is what people would say but...

I´ll keep it civil as PlaceBo says but i´m a little lit up with all these..

If you don´t like the idea of an Star wars Mod you can say it in Eviscerator thread were he asks for opinions.

This thread has been done to show us how the work on a serious mod is developing so don´t start to criticise others works and say you want another huey...

If we don´t want to buy another star wars game then we don´t buy it and if we want to see Star wars features with OFP engines then we ask for it..

So i think the rude ppl are you, that start putting negative opinions in threads which doesn´t interest you and you think these ppl should do the thiings you like most and not Star wars goodies..

Oh and by the way...for all those who say its a combat sim i would really desire these mod being complete and with succes to demonstrate you how the features this game has can develop and transform in other things.

about the X-wings for CAS, I always wondered why the Rebels never used X-wings with torps against the AT-AT's during the battle of Hoth...

BTW, If anyone is interested in craft info/schematics from the Essential Guide to Vehicles and Vessels I'd be happy to provide them, as this book has become quite rare and expensive AFAIK

Moreover, I downloaded loads of SW models from SWMA.net before it went down, maybe we can use them...

You totally missed the point of my last post.  I'm not saying that you're rude because you don't like the idea of a Star Wars mod.  I'm not saying you can't disagree with it.  I'm just saying that you don't have to be an asshole about it.  Seriously, some peoples' posts look like this (this is an example, not a direct quote):

"Star Wars?  What the hell?  That's retarded.  That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard.  This game is ONLY for modern military.  You're so stupid for trying to make it work."

There are many ways to disagree with someone's idea without being a dick about it.

You said, "some of you are so argant you refuse to know that this is a Milltary Game and it will stay that way."  That's pretty one-dimensional thinking.  Sure it's a military game.  I'm in the military, and I love that it's a realistic military game.  But who are you to belittle someone because they don't think the way you do?  And by the way, the word is "arrogant."  And I'm not being arrogant.  I'm sticking up for people that have the balls to create something and put it out there, knowing that there are people like you who will flame them to no end.

That is totally illogical.  The people who made the game made it so people would have fun.  They included a mission editor so people could experiment and use their creativity to make their own missions.  They obviously want players to explore the possibilities.  Yeah, I know the guys who make the mods put a lot of time and effort into it.  No one is discounting that.  So how is making a Star Wars mod "destroying the whole point of the game and what everone put hard time into makeing addons and mods"?  

It's one thing to read the post and say, "Yeah, I don't care for SW mods" or "I don't think that would work too well."  But it's another thing to say,  "that's stupid!" or "That's retarded, and so are you for thinking it would be cool."

Here's the bottom line:  That's great that you like vanilla ice cream.  There's nothing wrong with plain vanilla.  But it's really unnecessary to be pointed and mean to people who like Tooti-Fruity.

A SW mod has every right to be experimented with, allthough I am sad to say it will be limited to many things in the OFP world. Most importantly, we can not make animations for walking At-At, or any other non wheeld craft. So all the cool land stuff has to remain stationary, or have some strange way of moving that may best left alone

Still...the static walkers or other Imperial objects could be used in a "raid the depot" or other sabotage-type missions. That would be pretty cool. The way I see it, Star Wars is no more realistic than using a drill or nailgun for a pistol, which I think was a good idea that was executed very nicely.

And one more thing to our young friend RPG...

I THINK its me who u said said a SW mod would b cool (i did make a post bout that a couple months ago).

X-Wings, while originally intended for space combat, are used in land combat a lot. Same with TIE Fighters (though their design, while superior in space, makes them less maneuverable in atmosphere), which CAN fly in atmosphere.

and of course, id love to go get another SW game where i can run around as a stormy (storm trooper for non-SW likers), kill a couple rebels, and then jump into a AT-AA (from force commander) and shoot down a couple of Y-Wings, or jump into a AT-ST and kill a couple of rebel hover tanks, or even a TIE fighter or bomber and do that, but there are no games where i can do that, so an OFP mod is as close as ill ever get to having that.

and just wondin, if ur gonna do a SW mod for OFP, u gonna do an episode II era mod, or episode VI + era mod? cause doing both would b kinda weird.... but doable i suppose
