Harzach 2517 Posted March 6, 2013 I'm running A3 Alpha at 2560x1600, near max settings. My framerate is good and everything seems to be rendering nicely, but I get these temporary freezes at seemingly random intervals. It isn't lag, as this is occurring in SP. The only thing I can do that seems to mitigate it is pull back the view distance, which tells me it's an issue with terrain/object/etc loading. It gets bad at 5000+, but even at ~2000 I'll get a freeze every once in a while. However, as I've seen no other mention of this so far, I wonder if it is an issue on my end. My network is fast and stable (again, not that this should be an issue in SP), specs are good, running from SSD, etc. so I don't see what it could be. Has anyone else had this issue? Natti 10 Posted March 9, 2013 I'm having the exact same issue. Settings are at standard, vsync disabled. In the showcase missions it's very rare, but still happens. If I go multiplayer, it happens all the time, especially with heavier missions, content-wise. Computer specs: AMD Phenom II x2 550 Black edition, 2 additional cores in use, ATI Radeon HD6770, 2x 2GB DDR3 RAM, Windows 7 Ultimate x64.
Buckly 10 Posted March 10, 2013 I have had this issues on some MP servers, think it has to do with AI spawning, players joining, possible memory leak, or some thing server side. But I am only spit balling at what is causing it but they tweeted about working on stability and fixing crashes. So it should just be a matter of time
keefehb 0 Posted March 10, 2013 I get the exact same issue, as does most of the people in my group :(
tremanarch 6 Posted March 10, 2013 have had this too. all is slowing down - to a complete halt for 3-4 seconds, then suddenly it works again. thats rendering me useless as a pilot. :(
skadog 0 Posted March 10, 2013 (edited) Are you monitoring your CPU while you play? Mine does that as well, and when it happens the CPU is spiked up to 100% utilization. Mostly happens when I'm driving vehicles, turned off PiP in the settings and it helped reduce the occurances but it still happens from time to time. Windows has resource logging built-in. It's called the Performance Monitor. Create a data collector set to start collecting performance data while you play. -Gus- 0 Posted March 10, 2013 I get it as well at random intervals, but usually at least 15-20 min apart. Quite annoying.
