EveronVetsAgainstTheWar 1 Posted July 12, 2002 What I want to know is what kinda hippie parents let their 7 year old boy get a pierced ear? I don't have any piercings, I don't want any piercings. I think they look stupid. However I do have "OFP IS MY GOD" tattooed accross my back shoulder to shoulder.

EveronVetsAgainstTheWar 1 Posted July 12, 2002 It seems like Europeans still get the one pierced ear...
Albert Schweitzer 10 Posted July 12, 2002 in Europe usually a piercing in the right ear means you are gay! (I guess someone allready said that). Piercing in the eyebrow is so damm silly. "I am really a hard guy but also realy soft and sweet and so". That is for boybands. Piercing in the chest area. Well, if you like it, but if you got a chicken chest, you .... , well you wouldnt understand it anyway. Piercing in the nose or lip? You must be an anti-globalisation demonstrator. Tatoos, well those I accept. But not the silly ones like "I am a gangsta symbols" or gay roses, and no silly rings around the arm for wannabe-surfers. I like funny stuff that tell a story. I once had a huge red lobster tatooed on my back (only lasts a few weeks), it was a bet that I lost and I got it for free. Actually it looked quite funny. Now you see people enjoying to get tatoos that look like the ones you get in a russian prison, again they want to look dangerous. But usually those are honest middleclass sons that grew up in a little purple house. More comments?

<span id='postcolor'> Carring ones. I've witnessed whats happened to kids whos parents stiffle them, put a lid on their self-expression. A friend of mine was in a situation like this. We grew up together, and he always wanted to grow his hair out and get a pierced ear, etc. His parents wouldnt allow it. They made him conform and do things like get his hair done at these trendy professional salons and whatnot. you cant just make someone live how you want regardless of what they want for themselves. My parents always said: you can get whatever you want pierced, get whatever you want tattooed, and can grow yer hair out a mile. But not when youre livin in this house. Warin 0 Posted July 14, 2002 LOL! Does anyone else find it funny that the one person here that it would be societally normal to have both ears pierced wears clip ons? And good to see you, Avon. WKK Gimbal 0 Posted July 14, 2002 I had two rings in left ear, but now I only got one. The other hole is gone now - I can only feel a tiny hard lump inside the ear where the hole was. So it can disappear.

If only you knew how conservative my parents are. Both my mother and stefather have tattoos (very tasteful). My mom took me to have it done when I was seven because I wanted to, and to piss my father off. (divorced) I stopped wearing my earings when I enlisted at 17. I like tattoos and piercings, but they have to be tasteful and not too numerous. I don't like eyebrows, lips, genital for instance. I protested when my gf wanted to get her nose pieced, but it actually looks good. Girls with tounge piercings are a gift from god.

Aculaud 0 Posted July 16, 2002 Out of curiosity, would they let you wear jewelry of that type in the military?
USSoldier11B 0 Posted July 16, 2002 No, men are not allowed to wear any piercings period in the military. Technically it is unauthorized alteration of government assets. (kinda scary) You can only dye your hair if it is a natural color. Tattoos must not be visable when in class B uniform. None above the neck. I've seen dudes with tattoos on their forearms, they let that slide a bit. Tattoos can not be racist, vulgar, or be gang affiliated. Women may pierce their ears as long as the jewlery worn is tasteful. Men may wear a wedding band or military related ring (i.e Academy or Unit associated)
