w4lkn 10 Posted February 21, 2013 Currently, to make my _nohq texture, I use the NVIDIA plugin. But it gives me a not clean RVMAT. I would like to know if there is other solution to make these textures or what are the necessary settings of the plugin ? Thank you in advance

wld427 1705 Posted February 21, 2013 well the cleaner your texture the better. So go back into your PSD and remove the majority of your weathering and whatnot to ensure smoothness withint he details you are trying to show. also desaturate it to grey and nto color for best results. vilas 477 Posted February 22, 2013 yes, to generate good NOHQ you must think about elements in model, not just open plugin and push texture trough it, you must think and leave elements which are holes, which are rivets, which are bumped etc. do not make NOHQ from texture as is, especially with camo or shadow painted
max power 21 Posted February 22, 2013 Garbage in, garbage out. It really depends on what you're putting into your normal map program. At the very least, you're going to have to make your own height map.

scars09 9 Posted February 22, 2013 maybe check out crazybump too. 1 month demo should be still available. its just a software solution, but its fast and has a preview feature and after a while you get a feel for it how your normals should look as texture to look ok ingame too. http://www.crazybump.com/
