Coop - team vs team

Recommended Posts

Anti-Terrorism

Still in beta!

I believe no one else has made a mission like this for Flashpoint before.

The idea is terrorists versus anti-terrorists, though it is not a team death match,

it's more of a cooperative team vs team mission.

Let me presentate beta version of:

anti-terrorism-intro.JPG

Terrorists' main objective is to negotiate till they get

some kind of way to the safezone - if they get there they

have succeeded. But I think that won't happen too often, cause:

Anti-terrorists' main objective is to prevent the

hostages from getting killed by terrorists. In second hand to

capture the terrorists. In third hand to annihiliate terrorists if

neccessary.

When something certain happens, a team receive more points, e.g. if all

hostages are killed by the terrorists, they have successfully neutralized

anti-terrorists' main objective (to rescue hostages) and therefore

all terrorists receive an amount of points each.

Remember that this is a beta version. I'd love

some feedback, comments, suggestions. smile.gif

Our website for more missions.

Server is down when picture above is not shown. It's sometimes down during nights (Greenwhich Mean Time).

I'll let you know in this topic when new versions are out.

Best regards,

Neo

That's a whole lot of shit, surely. *Snicker*

I wouldn't download it for my own reasons. I don't think Flashpoint was meant to be this sort of game. Still, other people may not think so.

A pity this is being slated by Placebo due to his ethical concerns. We all have our own opinions, which is good and well.

However, although I haven't downloaded this mission, the idea sound great. Huge potential for varying outcomes and lots of furious typing as the hawks argue with the doves. tounge.gif

Are there any other mp missions out there with 2 sides, only human players, and NONE of this stupid CTF or DM stuff?

They should be easy to prepare. Just pick a village/town. Equip it with a realistic quantity of weapons, vehicles & fortification. Place one team there with the orders to hold at any cost. Then do similarly for another team placed a little distance away (and with some tactically challenging terrain to get around biggrin.gif Their orders are to take the village/town by what ever means they can. Then have the kind of unpredictable fun you can only get with two human teams.

Advantages are that you avoid the dumb AI and their rather predictable responses (it's little fun when you can play the mission multiple times and get to know just what will happen where and when). You can also avoid the surreal capturing of flags with outrageous levels of equipment or the cut-throat wholesale killing in DMs which are bordering on the psychotic.

With two human teams asked to do real-world military tasks, every mission should be truly unique.

Gosh, it makes me want to learn how to edit and write my own mission(s)! Now if I could just find a tutorial written by someone who knows how to explain things...(and spell) tounge.gif

I think it is boring and not much fun, when one side wait "camp" for the other side. but the idea of objective based missions is very good, i think better than ctf

Hmm did I sound like I was slating this mission? If I did then somewhere one of us messed up smile.gif I certainly was not slating this mission, I thought it sounded like a really cool premise, I'm all for trying different MP modes. What I was slating was the gunslinger addon.

If this mission could be made without that piece of shit addon I would be the first to download it.

So there tounge.gifbiggrin.gif

100% ack

It would be better with a non addon mission, especially in MP, when people doesn t have addons installed.

You're right. I only have Gunslinger's editor upgrade because before Resistance I wanted to be able to play all those missions made with it.

Although I have not put anything from the editor upgrade into the mission (what I know of at least), it seems to be added to the little addOns[] list in the sqm file of every user mission you create when you have it installed.

But have no fear wink.gif, I will remove editor upgrade for next Beta version.

Anyone tested the mission yet? Suggestions? Remember to play without ai's and therefore with at least 1 human player a side.

Beta 12th of July

. Terrorists have more freedom. If they leave the factory's area, they will be shot by police. Except if they kill him first tounge.gif Also if anti-terrorists delivers for example a Cessna to the terrorists, who otherwise would have executed hostages, police won't shoot and terrorists can fly away in their Cessna.

. Please report bugs to me and also I'd be glad if you posted suggestions etc.

While I have not yet tried it and do not think that Operation Flashpoint was meant for this, I commend you on your work. That last feature especially is interesting. Now if only I had a monitor for my gaming computer...

Hiya,

Wel, your mission sounds interesting, too bad I haven't got that Gunslingers thing ( whatever it is... ) , but the idea of your mission sounds good .

But , 1 thing; Where will the terrorist negotiate for, and why do the terrorists get points for killing the hostages, I mean, when the hostages are dead, then there won't anything left to negotiate for... or mabye extra points earned when terrorists kill the hostages after they escaped/reached their safezone ?

Hello Kep Kelagin,

10th of July I removed the Gunslinger's thing, so you don't need anything but Resistance to play this map. smile.gif

If 1 hostage is killed, anti-terrorists get 2 points each extra, because when 1 hostage is killed they get a shoot to kill order.

If all hostages are killed, terrorists get 5 points each, because they have prevented the anti-terrorists from completing their main objective, to save the hostages. But when the hostages are all killed, anti-terrorists have nothing to lose and can just go in and clean sweep totally so it's a bit bad for terrorists anyway.

Still terrorists' main objective is to make it to the Safe Zone.

The negotiating, at least so far, is made "person to person", manually, with the regular chat. Depending on your decisions and moves, you get or the enemy gets points. So it should be like in real life, negotiating. Give us a Cessna or we kill 2 hostages... wink.gif

How childish

mad.gif

Anyway, the mission sounds like a cool idea, although.. shouldnt the teorists get minus points if they kill all the hostages before they reach the safezone?

Cuse by killing all the hostages, the terroists wont have anything to negotiate with, which is their main objective, right?

So by killing all the hostages, the torrorists is actually destroying both teams chances of completing their main objectives?
