World War 3 Online - In development by Studio Eleven Bravo

Recommended Posts

I've got some exciting news!

World War III Online is being developed as a free-to-play, multiplayer only first-person shooter. Set during the height of the military might of NATO and the Warsaw Pact the game will explore the "what if†scenario that the Berlin wall did not fall, but on November 9th, 1989 a coup by hard-liners inside the Red Army took over the Soviet Union. Fearing the dissident movement growing within Soviet satellite states the Red Army generals decide to risk it all in an armored drive to the Rhine River, plunging the world into World War III.

Website - Looks like its done by a 12 years old kid.

Promo - Looks utter shite.

This is my dear, a constructive criticism, From what I see and sense it will be used in CryEngine 3 probably, I worked with it in one studio using it... Its a nice engine I can tell you that and thats a nice choice but really... From the promo and the website... Its gonna be utter shit game.

I just wonder how old are the creators.

As for the story, it sounds like its ripped off from Wargame European Escalation.

Uhh I so love to criticize.

Wow, this thread turned to mean in record time.

Seems bit premature to announce this as website says little and almost every link above failed to work. Sounds good...in theory....

The website doesn't look too bad, im sure most 12 years old couldn't build that. Or i am getting too old and behind the times :raisebrow:

The website is nothing more than the vBulletin blog CMS with premium template. And in my personal opinion, which means very little, they should have waited until they could have produced a better vBulletin skin and logo. Anyone that has 2d experience is facepalming themselves at this very moment while looking at a logo that looks like someone just played around with the bevel and emboss for two minutes in Adobe Photoshop to get what he thinks looks omfgawesoommmee!, only opens the door to the criticism we have read thus far, which is justified according to my value based judgement.

Sorry but a trailer composed of cut and pasted historical footage and some untextured renders of a tank model gives the distinct impression that this is one of those fan games that is "aspirational, not operational".

Looks like a potential vaporware project. Way too many of them lately ever since the UDK and Cry SDK were released for free to the public.
