Having a problem unbinarizing my model

Recommended Posts

Ok, so ive been working on my model and after saving it to where ive got to, its now not opening again saying this:

tuk_zpse0dd809a.jpg

The file is P3D format if that is of any help.

I didnt binarize it! I only saved it... so why is it doing this? is there anyway I can open it again, ive spent a hell of a lot of hours on this.

Thanks.

Did you save the Binarized version over the top/replaced the MLOD version of the same p3d ?

The model you are trying to load is definitely a binarized (ODOL) model. You can check this by loading the p3d in hexeditor or texteditor. If the first characters show "ODOL0" then it's in ODOL format (obviously). If it says "MLOD" but you still get the error then the p3d could be corrupted.

Eventually you copied the binarized version over the mlod one and replaced it.

Yes you probably screwed up and replaced the mlod at some point with a binarized p3d.

Well then... You surely have backups of your models, do you?

If not then ouch. :(

You could maybe try contacting someone who works at BIS on these forums (Long shot i know..) Maybe they might be able to unbinarize it? I dont know the rules on that. Are they allowed to do that anyway?
