jordan3878 1 Posted December 25, 2012 I there anyway to transfer Iron Front on to Arma 2 like a mod? I'm creating a movie which is based on 4 guys who set foot on France on D-Day. I want to clash this with a mod to make the film but on the mod I'm using on Arma 2 doesn't have the things I need but Iron Front has it. I really would like some help on how I could do this but if I can't I won't really mind. Much help would be considered. Thanks, jordan3878

JetlinerX 1 Posted December 26, 2012 Can we transfer the maps? I love the maps. I dont need the full IF on my ArmA, but are the maps possible?
ProfTournesol 956 Posted December 26, 2012 Still nope.
JetlinerX 1 Posted December 26, 2012 ............Is there a reason other than just nope?
ProfTournesol 956 Posted December 26, 2012 ............Is there a reason other than just nope? It isn't allowed to port ArmA2 content to IF, and IF content to ArmA2. Two different games, separated assets apart from the engine.
JetlinerX 1 Posted December 26, 2012 Not allowed!? Hm, that seems odd... but I will respect their rules. :/
ProfTournesol 956 Posted December 26, 2012 Not allowed!? Hm, that seems odd... but I will respect their rules. :/ I fail to see why it seems odd. It isn't even permitted to port ArmA2 assets to Arma, nor ArmA2/ ArmA assets to OFP.
Gunter Severloh 4057 Posted December 26, 2012 Should review this thread, this should clear anything up related to porting over or modding anything for IF, more modding then anything, but the same concept should apply to porting: Iron Front: Liberation 1944 - Modding possibilities Announcement http://forum.iron-front.com/showthread.php?358-Iron-Front-Liberation-1944-Modding-possibilities-Announcement In general porting anything over from one game to another requires permission to do so, and not getting such permission is grounds for being banned, or exiled, lol but you get the idea, so best to ask always. call_911 10 Posted December 28, 2012 It's a shame but understandable as some of the maps are just awsome, an the one map(huge)1 that takes like 10-15 mins to fly 20+to drive would just be epic with ArmA2 content.

Where could I contact the developers? If so could have a link please. Thanks, jordan3878
max power 21 Posted December 28, 2012 Their forums would be a good place to start. PMing the guy who created the thread Gunter Severloh linked to would no go amiss.
Gunter Severloh 4057 Posted December 29, 2012 (edited) Where could I contact the developers? If so could have a link please. IF forums, the link I provided, developers are on the forums all the time, just register and mention in the title asking for them, or better yet pm them http://forum.iron-front.com/member.php?33-Ingeneer Ingeneer who is one of the developers, or even PanzerBaron. Gunter Severloh 4057 Posted December 30, 2012 Ya sorry its a closed secret right now, its for developer/ moderator eyes only, I totally forgot about it, sorry. But just to say one thing IF has a promising future, I'll leave that up to your imagination.
gossamersolid 155 Posted January 2, 2013 Anybody with basic knowledge of how RV Engine configs work can port the content. Whether or not you actually should (because it's not permitted) is up to you and what you define as ethically correct. But as others said in this thread earlier, short answer is NOPE
jiltedjock 10 Posted January 17, 2013 separated assets apart from the engine. Not strictly correct, as you will see if you de-PBO the IF .ifas
ProfTournesol 956 Posted January 17, 2013 Not strictly correct, as you will see if you de-PBO the IF .ifas And ? IF using some of ArmA2 stuff doesn't allow you to use IF stuff in ArmA2. Period.
jiltedjock 10 Posted January 17, 2013 (edited) Yes, I've read the license, but when you have paid for both and all the binaries are on your HDD, which exe you use is a moot point really. Edited January 17, 2013 by jiltedjock
