EBass 0 Posted July 4, 2002 Right ok no matter what I do (I have view dist set to max) I can see the ground alright but anything imposed on the landscape my view distance is insanely small. I cant see people within 50 metres. I just go at him looking where he is and suddenly he appears 50 ms away. It makes it imposiible to shoot at long ranges can anyone help? Is this a known bug? It helps a little if I look through iron sights cos that gets ur view closer but not much argh
Ex-RoNiN 0 Posted July 4, 2002 That is really strange, but if this problem is distance related, then maybe you should check your LOD-slide bars in "Flashpoint Preferences". The further to the right they are, the better the quality of far-away objects. I think this is the point of those sliders, the quality of far-away objects. Try this
Placebo 31 Posted July 5, 2002 To be honest I don't quite follow the problem you're having, could you explain it as if to a 5 year old? Pictures would prolly help too if possible
BoonieRat 0 Posted July 5, 2002 Do you mean that the landscape is drawn/rendered properly, but people or other objects on it are only visible within a 50m radius?. and pop into veiw when you move towards them?... Is your CD an Original or a copy?...
EBass 0 Posted July 5, 2002 Yes people, tanks, trees, houses cant be seen even when looking right at where they should be and I have to move to within about 50m for people 100 for tanks and 300 for houses and trees to make them appear. My CD is an original as is my resistance and red hammer. I reinstalled all without unofficial mods too so that isnt the problem

munger 25 Posted July 5, 2002 You said you have viewdistance set to max. Do you mean you have it set to 5000m? If so, perhaps auto-dropdown is trying to compensate for the massive demands being placed on your PC with such a huge distance. Try setting your viewdistance to about 700m and see if it helps. I just noticed that you have an old graphics card. Two things spring to mind - with a viewdistance of 5000m you are pushing your system way too far. As I said above, try reducing viewdistance to about 700m, and also press the autodetect button on the preferences menu when you start the game. Also, make sure T&L is disabled as TNT cards don't support it.
BoonieRat 0 Posted July 6, 2002 Try veiw distance at about 900. thats about what the original was. try to keep to the original specs. ie, 900veiw, terrain normal, ect...
