dram 14 Posted October 3, 2012 I knew I'd heard of Enforce before...you guys also used it in Alpha Prime. :)So it is not a completely new engine? Practically is, read here: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?140985-What-Engine&p=2234105&viewfull=1#post2234105
Bansheedragon 1 Posted October 4, 2012 Having played the entire campaign to the end I can sum up that part of the game with one word. Impressive. Its been years since I could enjoy a game to this extend and want to replay it again right away. If there was some way for me to replay the game again as if it was the first time I played it, I would do so. Once they fix the walrus path finding and get the modding going with the game, I expect this game to have nearly infinite replayability. That a developer can take a good old classic, remake it and make it this good is just amazing. I cant think of any other game that have been made this good, be it a remake or a sequel. Bansheedragon 1 Posted October 4, 2012 Thank you very much for the kind words, very glad you enjoyed it. :)You finished the story-driven campaign, correct? Yes, and I found it truly enjoyable. Just started strategy mode, interested in seeing how that will be. I was a bit puzzled though, when I started the strategy mode. It told me I had not completed the campaign tutorial yet, even though I completed the whole campaign. I just wish I could replay the campaign again, as if it was the first time I played it. Dajunka 10 Posted October 4, 2012 I never used my arrow keys since Wolfenstein 3D o_OWASD is just perfect, at least I have other keys to shortcut to nearby. Although I can understand it's a problem for some people. As for the mouse+manta, don't have any problems with that? Any particular mouse you are using at the moment? Perhaps it's an incompatibility issue or something? I have a Logitech Laser mouse (very responsive) ---------- Post added at 08:47 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:46 AM ---------- One question do you use the auto aim? I would prefer not to, but with the mouse being so twitchy, I have to if I am ever going to hit anything.
hellR1de 1 Posted October 5, 2012 I feel like I play some bad converted console game because of the controls, feels way to much squishy in mantas. Cant really fight with them my self without my beloved Joystick. Is it possible to at least use a gamepad? I too usually prefer to use a joystick for flying vehicles but if I'm confined to mouse and keyboard for that, I admit that's a bit of a turn-off.
Thygrrr 1 Posted October 5, 2012 Yes you can use the Xbox 360 controller on the PC, or probably a gamepad as well. The game plays best with a mouse, though. I am usually very sensitive to mouse lag, and I find it quite bearable in this game (only few misclicks, but I also have a constant 50+ fps)

Bansheedragon 1 Posted October 6, 2012 I'm playing the campaign for the second time now. I have previously praised the work of BI on this game, but one thing I havent seen any comments on are the music. Personally I find the music to be just perfect for the game. To me its one of those extremely rare times when the music fits the game in such a way that I it enhances the atmosphere and experience of the game to a level I had never thought possible. I honestly dont have the words to describe just how I feel about it. In most games I turn the music off because I feel its just in the way really. But here there are times when the music makes me I feel as is I'm actually living the game and not just playing it. I just acquired the launch platform for the Hammerhead on Taksaven. During the part of the FPS mission where I go into the research center on foot to get the launch platform, the music just makes me ant to keep going forever. Whoever is responsible for the music in this game just hit the nail on the head with the music here.

The music is excellent, sometimes it gives me the tingles it's that uplifting, and I often find myself unconsciously humming the theme music. Yes they got they music spot on as they did with many other things in CCGM. I have recently started to regret not buying the supporters pack that came with the music, steam key and badge. :icon_ohmygod: Edited October 6, 2012 by Dajunka

Dajunka 10 Posted October 6, 2012 As a supporter too where to get the extra music? Don't know, I am only half a supporter. I assumed that the full supporters got it with their downloads, no?

Unless there's something I don't understand, I haven't been able to use my Logitech gamepad. I don't mind that to much for the Walrus but for eventually piloting Mantas, that's a real bugger for me. Anyone could confirm if they have been able to make it work with standard gamepads?

hellR1de 1 Posted October 6, 2012 Thanks for the tip. It works like a charm! I assume I may probably be able to map my joystick through that as well.

Probably one at a time, but not both... While we're at it, is there any way to lower mouse sensitivity for the FPS parts? It's waaaayy too fast! Otherwise, I'm having a blast with the campaign, so far.

Not to worry the fps bit doesn't last all that long.
Bansheedragon 1 Posted October 6, 2012 As a supporter too where to get the extra music? If you bought the game directly from BI, you can get it from the BI Store. https://store.bistudio.com/carrier-command-gaea-mission?page=shop.product_details&product_id=59&option=com_virtuemart&redirect=
Korneel 115 Posted October 8, 2012 As a supporter too where to get the extra music? Hi Parmenides, if you bought the Supporter's edition, you should go to the 'Your Games' section in your Store.bistudio.com account. Somewhere there you'll have the option to download the Gaea Universe soundtrack. Hope that helps!
