SaOk 112 Posted September 12, 2012 I hope the patch will see light, much potential in this game. Someone could convert the DayZ for this (if its allowed) to bring more players. Staszow would be perfect map with it´s open houses. Nazi-zombie edition. :)
jedra 11 Posted September 12, 2012 I don't think anyone is advocating a company take over - Deep Silver have their fingers in a lot of other publishing pies! Maybe BI/Deep Silver can come to an arrangement as to where Iron Front lives and perhaps it can be brought back into the fold. The game has had too much hard work put into it for it to die, and I think it could be a success if the community were allowed to modify it as with any other Arma title. OrLoK 20 Posted September 12, 2012 (edited) I call for underground patchJust needs a little leak of the signing tool and everything would solve itself soon'ish. I myself jumped in early thinking incorrectly IFL would become the defacto WW2 mod base and that other mods like I44 etc would come flooding into it with their own take. It's sad that going retail has ended this way, and although not Bohemia's fault, may not reflect well for other groups thinking of going solo. Personally, IMHO lack of modding will be the death knell of IFL, in fact without mods I probably wouldn't still be playing Arma2. But I did think we had some more time left with the game. I'll be interested to eventually find out what exactly happened from the modding issue with Bis to the current DS problems. There's a novel in it for AWAR if nothing else. I adore the game and the RV engine, fingers crossed there is a resolution soon. Rgds LoK Update: As with other posters I also would like to see IFL bought back to the fold and opened up as it should be. Unlikely, I know but I still want it to happen :) Edited September 12, 2012 by orlok
chrisb 196 Posted September 13, 2012 I along with every member of the group I play in bought this when it first came out, not for the campaign but for the Editor and possibility of the game getting a mod making community behind it. At the beginning it was suggested by the makers that modding would be available, but they had to withdraw that comment as there was a ‘misunderstanding’ between them and BIS, so modding was put in doubt. So the reason why we bought the game was withdrawn, I have not played the campaign, I have never played any BIS made campaigns, but have made a couple of missions with what’s there for our group, but to be honest we haven’t played the game for a while now and not even patched it up. Unless Deepsilver & BIS come to some arrangement, its very limited, almost dead, to mission makers, but campaign players would be o.k. I would think. Its certainly not unplayable as some believe, it played well in the missions we made, albeit a few bugs, but lets be honest we’re quite used to them. The terrains were very good, lush well made countryside as were the factions first class units, vehicles etc. just a shame it has come to this. Awar, put it down to experience and come back and remake it as a mod within this community, if BIS had any sense they would pick it up and do what is being done with dayz and release it, or lets say release a different version with a new name, under the BIS banner, open world WW2, well just think, it’s the best anyone is going to get, if WW2 is your thing.. RorySheen 10 Posted September 17, 2012 Maybe Invasion 1944 should get a retail version and have an eastern front free-DLC ;)
