-Anti- 1 Posted July 30, 2012 Can downloaded co-op scenarios be played as single player, with AI filling up all the unfilled human slots? Thanks.
kylania 568 Posted July 30, 2012 Depends on how the mission was made, you can have it either way and if it was designed to be played with AI you can turn it off if you didn't want them. If they were designed without AI, you can edit the mission to allow AI if you wanted to, but that's more than just clicking the 'Disable AI' button. :)
gunso 10 Posted July 30, 2012 Learn to edit the mission, then you can add whatever you like to it. Even port it to a different island. :)
BasileyOne 10 Posted July 30, 2012 unless it depend on some MP-only code, demanded to be backported manually to run stuff in SP or stuck into intentionally-imposed restrictions/enforcement, sure.
tom3kb 15 Posted July 30, 2012 Almost all coop missions you can play in SP without any problem (i think 90% of them). I have ~700 coop missions on my hdd and i play them as SP.
Gunter Severloh 4071 Posted July 30, 2012 with AI filling up all the unfilled human slots? Yes the AI can fill the human slots, but the AI wont do anything on their own unless something is scripted for them to do, its not like all of a sudden the coop aspect of the humans in those slots who are now AI will start working with you and covering you and so forth. AI in the slots in SP will only be good for choosing them for their class or weapons, by themselves they are useless and no sense of having. An ammo box with a multitude of weapons will take care of your weapon's need, as for the AI which will be the most important aspect of the game, a coop againted the AI should work in SP no different then if it were in mp, im sure some beg to differ, however there is a problem with this, a coop in SP wont have a respawn if thats what you want the mission to have. Respawn requires the description.ext script. I know that in SP vehicles, and AI can respawn, but to respawn in SP for yourself you would need scripts like this: ArmA2 Single Player revive http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=9683&highlight=SP%2BRESPAWN I think if you want to do coop best to just host a game for yourself and play it in mp, and you'll get all the features of what the mission has to offer respawn included. sander 14 Posted July 30, 2012 Yes, that is possible for most scenario's. Many can be placed in the SP missions folder and played there, while others may require the mission to remain in the MPMissions folder to work correctly and would be locally hosted to play. As the player takes on the role of group leader he can issue orders to AI subordinates and either switch (default key T will open a menu allowing selection of other playable units) to control another group, if there are multiple groups with playable slots, or to slots with specialised equipment or abilities to take on particular tasks. Depending on the way the mission is set up playable units may have preset waypoints governing their actions or alternatively be entirely dependent on player input as group leader. As a good coop mission ought to provide a challenge for multiple human players it may sometimes take great effort to complete them in SP, as the player might be overwhelmed by the need to micromanage his AI subordinates in a hectic situation.
