Sakowski 1 Posted June 1, 2012 So finally got internet on my holidays on full power (darn MiFi) and visited my dear website and what I have seen is a PM from some just made clan with some weird made up "shit" here it is So could anyone explain to me what is he trying to achieve? I mean if he copyrighted 18th for ArmA 2 clan BIS had to agree on that right? I do not believe in it what so ever since you just cannot copyright a damn number. What do you guys think? Tankbuster 1747 Posted June 1, 2012 Is this a serious question?
Sakowski 1 Posted June 1, 2012 (edited) Is this a serious question? No just really want to get shit straight. I know for 90% its impossible. If its "real" if yes thats the end of the world I want to get ready for his so called "lawyers" would be nice if someone from BIS would reply but thats way too rare I guess e-mail would be needed for that. PELHAM 10 Posted June 1, 2012 Legally he is standing on his 3rd leg - you can't copyright a single word, it would be an issue if it was a trademark but it isn't that either. Ask to see his evidence lol.

Yes that what I told him as well, I think his trying to eliminated any kind of source of threat...
[kh]jman 49 Posted June 1, 2012 (edited) Agreed. You cannot copyright that. Blimey if you could we'd be screwed  Ellman: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?132256-18th-Tactical-Regiment-Invites-you Edited June 1, 2012 by [KH]Jman
Sakowski 1 Posted June 1, 2012 So since the theory of cannot copyright 18th (any small word number etc) is right I guess I can tell him off to tell some bullshit to other people. Still makes me wonder why be so stupid and do that.
PELHAM 10 Posted June 1, 2012 (edited) I see you are both in the EU - you will get nowhere under British or EU law with that one. It would be judged on the whole phrase and there are significant differences (Most likely be dismissed before it even got to court). It would be impossible for the average person to confuse one phrase with the other. Edited June 1, 2012 by PELHAM

Still impossible to do so, made some research, you can't copyright something that is usable in your daily life all you can copyright is something made by you e.g. story line etc or a company trade mark, if it would be so he would need to ask BIS and I am pretty sure they would go for that kind of shite thing. theTog 10 Posted June 1, 2012 Wow... So under his idea of 'copyright', I now have the right to claim every number other than 18 as my own? I guess I'm already too late for 18, so I'm gonna put down 7,12th, and 15th as my own.
