HUEY22 1 Posted March 15, 2012 Sorry all at BI but Im not totally convinced that 'Cougar' is totally finished. Im using the Saiteck x52 and CH Pro pedals. Updated to 'Cougar' last Saturday and then sat down to enjoy the new and improved flight modelling. After being a good armchair pilot and checking all settings across the board I went into free flight and as the heli comes up on screen I put some collective in at which point the bird just sank to the ground and crashes. I then rechecked all settings and set off again. To condense 4 evenings of fiddling into a nutshell the collective seems to have no authority. It doesnt matter if Im free flight, time trials or editor the collective now seems under powered. Checked all settings then checked them again. Cant fix this bug. Reinstalled everything from disk again last night up to the previous patch and will remain there until the bugs are ironed out. Anyone else having issues with Saiteck X52? AZY 1 Posted March 16, 2012 yeah i am, but im having trouble were it wont save the control out put i put in ,i mean i can assign everything then go in game go back to control config and it either is not saving or it resets it self to default or some other x52 profile that i have not assigned now i have this new hind mod,and do you think for the life of me i can assign anything the way i need it on the stick ,no way in hell will it let me assign what i need were i need it,this is basic 1 O 1 these days assigning a controller and they cant even get that right,i have tried for hours thinking its me doing something stupid ,put low and behold its this stupid game.i think i might have to bin it as i really have enough of trying to sort out the bugs in this game seriously ,im doing more bug fixing than flying
DnA 5156 Posted March 16, 2012 Anyone else having issues with Saiteck X52? Hi HUEY :) I've been using the X52 all throughout development without the issue you are describing. My colleague had some issues, but we noticed his Saitek control panel had deadzones configured. Once on WinXP there was an issue with the control panel, as it would no longer start at all (the throttle icon in the taskbar was not showing). We re-installed it and the drivers for the X52 to fix this issue. Then in the game configured the Z axis for collective without deadzone, and we were good to go again. Are you experiencing total failure of the collective (like raising it all the way and the helicopter still sinking), or sensitivity issues?
AZY 1 Posted March 16, 2012 well why can we not save any predetermined trigger ,were we need it on the x52 and or save our or my personal configuration, with out using the predetermined x52 configurations, with the new hind you can not configure the extra buttons as needed with out it not being abel to save,it just wont save anything you imput with out it defaulting to its own setting, its pretty annoying to say the least ,hey i can get it all to work, the joy stick i mean, but can never program it to my own config in game.i mean its really standard stuff for any game is it not . !!!! max power 21 Posted March 16, 2012 My brother and I were having massive joystick sensitivity problems after the update. I have and x52 and he has another saitek stick... an av8r or something. He actually thought it was his joystick failing and then I took the controls (via the action menu) and overcontrolled it and crashed. I'm no stranger to crashing but usually I come by it honestly ^_^ The collective and penals were so sensitive it seemed like they were either on or off, and such rapid accelleration of the controls was destroying the helicopter. Once our tail rotor flew right off.. That's the first time I've seen that happen in mid flight!
AZY 1 Posted March 16, 2012 the forces are an easy fix ,its the saving your buttons and allocating buttons to functions thats a pain, but time and time again BI never reply to it ,totally ignoring the problems from day one, even though heaps of people jump up and down about it... Is it just the joystick buttons or does it also 'forget' changes you make to keyboard mappings also? If it's both perhaps somehow your profile got set to read-only or there are some permissions issues on the file? I don't have the same stick as you (I have a G940) and there are no issues at all with the profile sticking.
HUEY22 1 Posted March 16, 2012 Thanks for the feedback DNA. Appreciated. It's defiantly more of a sensitivity issue rather than a complete failure. If I raise the collective the ship will take off but the power margin seems really low. As soon as I make a turn there is not enough power to keep altitude. I checked the dead zones but will recheck them and feedback. HUEY22
