BlackADD3R 1 Posted November 26, 2012 Hi shadow, your english is fine. I use arma launcher and winxp launch parameter. I had the same problem and IT was related to Vram. I have solved it by running video memory set to default, (as everyone should and has been agreed on in many forums) and lowering textures detail from High to Normal. This just started happening one day for no apparent reason. I upgraded my game with BAF and PMC and the texture problems started. I hope this helps, it's worth trying it out. chrisb 196 Posted November 26, 2012 ChrisB, thanks for your reply.First of all, I want to bring up my apologize for misinforming everyone here. Yesterday, after long testing period, I discovered, that problem of wrong VRam detection on my system was caused by -winxp startup parameter, not ArmA Launcher itself. It looks like, that it is not compatible with new generation of ATI drivers \ videocards anymore. So, this problem was resolved. A new one, that now I will be enforced to use additionally program application, like Fraps, to make a screenshots, but this is another story. :) @Shadow_Vit, have you tried msi-afterbuner for your screen shots and recording, plus of course monitoring performance. I use it because there is a slightly less hit recording (still 30fps hit though when recording, but with fraps its even more hit for me around 35fps). Anyway glad you got your other problem sorted, going against popular belief, try vid mem on V/High, its what I use and have for a few years, really since a2 came out. I get around 5-10fps increase with the setting, but it doesn’t work for everyone, worth a little try. If I use ‘default’ for instance in a set test I will get at least 100mb more mem using very high, plus the extra fps. Works my card harder between 80-99% gpu use, doesn’t record 100% for some reason, so I assume 99% is really 100%. This is based on a 2000vd, as you will know higher vd tends to come from your cpu, for working your card hard, it tends to mean slightly lower view distance. Anyway there you go.:). BlackADD3R 1 Posted November 27, 2012 It's all very rig-specific isn't it Chris? It's all trial and error, for me optimizing is almost half the fun of the game.
chrisb 196 Posted November 27, 2012 It's all very rig-specific isn't it Chris? It's all trial and error, for me optimizing is almost half the fun of the game. Took the words right out of my mouth. Perhaps testing is more fun, it’s the challenge of having the game run great, well as good as you can. Only problem is, you get it just right, then they pop out another beta that tips the balance.:butbut: Still secretly I love testing, optimizing, tweaking and altering everything to do with the game, it’s a hobby..;) Sometimes I get interrupted and have to play a mission or two, never mind..:)
