While i think getting tired slower would have fit the picture more, a lot of the whole "Skill" thing is up to the player. If you want to aim better, you just gotta learn how to be a better shot.

Also, there is one distinguishment that really stands out between special forces and GIs. At night, youre almost invisable to AI when you go prone playing as a special op. As a normal soldier, they can still see you pretty easy.

Other than that, i'll definitely agree with you that there should have been more forces involved from nations other than the states. The SAS would be a great place to start. I for one would like to see the special forces have more kit space than normal soldiers. Maybe even be able to have a secondary weapon like an MP5SD, or an XMS along with whatever your primary is.

We could set down a couple hundred to a couple thousand special forces on a beach if we wanted to. U.S special forces have almost become a norm in everyconflict the U.S has been in.....Egh Emmm.....well I;m straying away from the sublect....I would like to sas and various other british forces in the game utilized a lil more.....

confused.gif Except for the fact that a massive beach invasion is totally against Special Forces Command doctrine. SF soldiers are to valuable an asset to be eaten up in massive direct action missions. Rather, they are force multipiers, teachers if you will. That specialize in low intensity and unconventional warfare. SF will engage in direct action missions involving sabotage, force harassment, and demolition of vital communitions/radar/logistical/transportation assets. SF ODA's are set up with a high rank structure for a reason. Take the standard 12 man team. The det commander is a Captain, the XO is a warrant officer, the team NCOIC is a MSG. The senior commo/weapons/medic/engineer NCO's are SFC's, and the juniors are SSG's. Compare this to a standard infantry squad, where the squad leader is a SGT or SSG and the rest of the squad is mostly comprised of Specialists and Privates. This is so a company sized indigenious force can be trained, and often lead into combat operations by a 12 man A team which serves as the command and leadership element. If you are looking for storm the beach/airfield and shoot em' in the face shock troops in a battalion/Company sized element, then you want Rangers.

Well if you ask me Knights Templar were kinda first "special ops" troops. And yes they started in Jerusalem, but that's not the point.

Uhhhh, maybe so, but I think we a talking more along the lines of modern combat doctrine. Unless, of course, you are talking about the holy hand grenade. tounge.gif

Galahad:

(brightly) We *have* the Holy Hand Grenade, Sir!

Arthur:

Of course! 'Tis one of the sacred relics that Brother Maynard carries with him! Brother Maynard! Bring out the Holy Hand Grenade!

Monks:

(chant)

Die Jesu domine,

Dona eis requiem.

Die Jesu domine,

Dona eis requiem.

(Pause. Arthur examines the hand grenade, turning it over in his hands.)

Arthur:

How does it...How does it work?

High Priest:

I know not, my leige.

Arthur:

Consult the book of Armaments!

High Priest:

Armaments Chapter One, verses nine through twenty-seven:

Bro. Maynard:

And Saint Attila raised the Holy Hand Grenade up on high saying, "Oh Lord, Bless us this Holy Hand Grenade, and with it smash our enemies to tiny bits." And the Lord did grin, and the people did feast upon the lambs, and stoats, and orangutans, and breakfast cereals, and lima bean-

High Priest:

Skip a bit, brother.

Bro. Maynard:

And then the Lord spake, saying: "First, shalt thou take out the holy pin. Then shalt thou count to three. No more, no less. "Three" shall be the number of the counting, and the number of the counting shall be three. "Four" shalt thou not count, and neither count thou two, execpting that thou then goest on to three. Five is RIGHT OUT. Once the number three, being the third number be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade to-wards thy foe, who, being naughty in my sight, shall snuffit. Amen.

All: Amen.

if we are talking modern combat then it is the british army commandos who were the first elite team set up (there could have been some german teams but im not too sure) and AFAIK most american special forces were formed in 1942 after pearl harbour and the commandos had been going for about 5 years by then
