GReeves 10 Posted September 19, 2013 Any suggestions for playing Island Panthera? I planned a campaign on it and just realized that I struggle to even turn because of the FPS lag coming from all those trees. I've put my view distance down to 500, all graphics settings on Very Low, and my 3D resolution to 75%. Lowering the resolution to 50% makes it great, but then things are so blurry that I can't even see. Sorry if this is the wrong place; please remove my post if so. nettrucker 142 Posted September 19, 2013 (edited) What are your system specs and your video settings. Without these information it is hard to understand what might cause the low FPS and the lag. I believe that there's not a computer on earth able to max ArmA. It's very CPU intensive especially AI. The more units the greater the lag and FPS drops as a result. cheers BTW try a defrag of your HD where ArmA is installed in case it's heavily fragmented it can cause lag and low FPS. zulu1 145 Posted September 20, 2013 Not familiar with that graphic setup, so its integrated graphics. Usually integrated are limited where 'heavy' games are concerned, not sure with yours, maybe someone will have experience with it, sorry.:) I have an Intel MB that has intregrated graphics and an i5 3.2ghz CPU. The graphics sucked, I now have a GTX 650 SC TI / 2048mb. After that changed ARMA2 is suitable to play.

Doesn't seem to be able to take any upgrades and the integrated intel graphics isn't gonna help much with games.
nettrucker 142 Posted September 20, 2013 Yeah it's your integrated video card that is unable to handle ArmA. I'm astonished that you are even able to run it. LOL Try to find a better video card and you should be good to go even though you won't be able to max everything. Your processor (CPU) is also not really that fast for today standards but it will handle ArmA if you sacrifice your video settings. For mission making I'm using an low end dual core AMD 2.5 ghz and an NVIDIA 9800 GTX. This is all low end hardware for todays standard but it's able to handle ArmA with normal video settings. I have lag and low FPS on that rig when placing too many units in the mission then it's starts getting tricky. The AI then becomes completely unresponsive. Lag, low FPS are the consequences and I know I'm not really able to run large scale mission on my Dual but if my mission runs fine on a lowend rig they will definitely run better on my powerfull one which is an I7 3770K 3.5 ghz not overclocked. ArmA is a beast of a game and brings even highend computers to their knees. :D

nettrucker 142 Posted September 21, 2013 The rig isn't complete but im looking for new parts currently Computing power is really important to run ArmA in a satisfying manner. If you have a powerful CPU you will be able to run the game better.
GReeves 10 Posted September 21, 2013 If you're referring to me about the integrated video card, then do you think that would explain why sometimes I see the AI turn very, very slowly to aim at me? :D

Get a new video card and it will solve some of the problems. cheers
tonygrunt 10 Posted September 21, 2013 @GReeves Before you buy a new video card could you post more info about your pc. I can only guess but from the info you gave it seems that it can't be upgraded.
