bogart 10 Posted January 20, 2012 I can see the name and the icon in the editor but the tank is invisible, could textures or materials (rvmat) cause the problem?
max power 21 Posted January 20, 2012 No, I think your problem is that the polycount is too high, or the massive number of ngons you have on there. This model will require significant work.

PuFu 4600 Posted January 20, 2012 how many tris? How many smooth groups? From the link you posted: Geometry: PolygonalPolygons: 40150 Vertices: 47988
bogart 10 Posted January 21, 2012 how many tris? How many smooth groups? From the link you posted: at least tells me what I have to do starting from a 1.000 lod cause on this forum and on internet I didn't find a comprehensive explanation/tutorial. I'm not a 3d modeller but i'm helpful to learn. for example: are memory points the same found in Lod 1.000? how do you copy them from the lod 1.000 to memory? how can I reduce the amount of points in lods 2.000, 5.000 10.000 and so on? do wheels have a pin? how do I make wheels roll? in cfg? thanks Matthew
Sealife 22 Posted January 21, 2012 you can best do it by download Arma1 mlods , in there is abrahams model and model .cfg , simply rename the equivalent parts of your model the same as the abrahams . you can position memmory lod and geometry lod etc accordingly , after that you can start refine your own tank with shadow lod etc . place model .cfg in your challenger folder and put under the m1_abrams section of the modelconfig class Nameofyourtank.p3d :m1_abrams { }; for resolution lods you will need some better 3d programme than 02 for good result ,try blender forums here on BIS its not perfect for learning but quick way to Learn from whats happening
