burkefett 1 Posted January 23, 2012 Any chance that this system can be made to work with the gunner/copilot position in aircraft like the Su34? It would add a bit of fun and realism to anyone stuck in that position.
blakeace 11 Posted January 23, 2012 Any chance that this system can be made to work with the gunner/copilot position in aircraft like the Su34? It would add a bit of fun and realism to anyone stuck in that position. I have thought about that, and with helicopters. Up until now it hasn't been a priority, but I was intending to have an experiment to see what would be required to implement something on those aircraft that have a dedicated gunner. blakeace 11 Posted January 30, 2012 Updated Version 0.3a available in the first post. Version 0.3a Changed control of the weapons systems to the gunner if there is one on the aircraft. Changed the binoculars key to be a toggle on toggle off for the flir cam, Hold breath is still only while held.

blakeace 11 Posted February 4, 2012 Updated Version 0.4a available in the first post. Altered the locking algorithm as it was conflicting with targeting vehicle objects. Added IR and white hot, black hot thermal modes for the camera. Keyboard only, zoomout key. Default "numpad -" to cycle through the modes. Changed the daylight camera to colour. Increased the rate of movement for slewing the camera. Added RST SP action menu. Allows better functionality with other mods. Example [FRL] Myke's missle Box JDAM addon also requires the onmouseclick functionality. Selecting this after using the gps dialog for the jdam will restore the onmouseclick functionality for repositioning the steerpoint. Added menu item SP-ACRFT Selecting this menu item will set the sp marker to the aircrafts current position. Useful for marking up something unexpected without needing to bring up the map. Added menu item SP-LOCK Selecting this menu item will set the sp to the currently locked target if it isn't an aircraft. Guns no longer fire using the PINS fire default watch. jumpartist 0 Posted February 9, 2012 HEy man Great addon, I have a few suggestions 1. make the FLIR black and white? 2. make crosshairs black or white (with ability to switch) 3. possibly convert all the scroll menu stuff to buttons 4. add grid coordinates of where your looking to the bottom right in camera 5. Add "Lase" to bottom left when lasing in camera 6. make 3d world box much much smaller. (hard to use when strafing) 7. increase crosshair speed even more 8. Keep up the great work !! These are jut suggestions, I love using this mod in every mission I make!!!!! Im glad there are great modders out there that create such fun addons! Keep rocking out man!!! blakeace 11 Posted February 9, 2012 (edited) @Old Bear and Foxhound Thanks as always. HEy man Great addon, I have a few suggestions1. make the FLIR black and white? 2. make crosshairs black or white (with ability to switch) 3. possibly convert all the scroll menu stuff to buttons 4. add grid coordinates of where your looking to the bottom right in camera 5. Thank you, 1. That's no problem, just went green on a whim playing around with it :p. 2. In flir view or everywhere? 3. Buttons can get a bit hard, esp if people are using multiple mods. I have tried to at least colour code and prioritise with the more important ones near the top. Which items do you feel are really time critical that need buttons? 4. That shouldn't be to hard I think. Will investigate mapGridPosition 5. No probs I'd say. 6. This is actually purposely designed this way. Think of it as a simple visual representation of the more basic navigation instruments. Designed to focus the pilot in the correct direction without pinpointing a location. If the aircraft has extra equip like the camera and the laser, then is the ability to lase the position and target that for extra accuracy. If you have only the camera, it enables you to get a mental picture of what you are trying to see. This way it focuses on the air to ground communication aspect which is the basic foundation behind this mod. Between the box and the zoom key I find it isn't hard to find most targets. Except where there are many similar structures, then it is up to the JTAC to help with his tools, either directions, smoke etc, cold runs to ensure the pilot is correct. Plus there is always the rush when you hear a frantic wave off call :p 7, Will do some tests. 8. Thanks, and thank you for your feedback :). From comments at armaholic's news page, better answered here. 5. Some how add the ability for other aircraft to lock onto your laser energy so they we can 'Buddy lase" Should be already, tested on my small test server, and the ai not grouped with me could see it and target the laser. I have add a publicvariable command to it. I think I remember reading once it helped to broadcast a created object making aware quicker on other clients. See if that helps on the next version. Somehow add the ability to pickle off the bomb while in the camera mode. I should be able to add a keyboard option, though unless you have a joystick where you can custom map key strokes you would need to use the keyboard to use it. Limitation of getting feedback when in that mode. Cheers Blake. Edited February 9, 2012 by blakeace
blakeace 11 Posted February 14, 2012 Updated Version 0.5a available in the first post. Changed Flir colour from green to white. Added Lase indicator to the camera view. Added Grid reference of SP to the camera view. Added current weapons name and ammo amount to the camera view. Changed hud colours to be either bright or dark options only. Changed the camera info to be either black or white dependant on the hud colour settings. Added the ability to fire weapons from the camera view, keyboard only, watch key. (Joysticks with the ability to assign key strokes may be able to use that function to fire from the stick - not tested). Added mouse support for moving the camera. Thanks Jumpartist and Michael from Armaholic for the feedback :) Not sure if you are the same person or just very similar views?

BelgarionNL 10 Posted February 14, 2012 is it just me or is the CCRP with the mk82 incredibly inaccurate? I've played a lot of DCS A10c and with that I could at least always hit a freaking building! so far I've tried 6 times and never hit the intended target! CCIP is shaking too much to actually use! and the even the laser guided either fall short or miss by a mile! I greatly applaud the attempt but for now it's not even close to being useful in a multiplayer game! but like I said; I am very curious to see if you can get it into a more accurate tool! since the ace way is even more terrible! jumpartist 0 Posted February 15, 2012 (edited) WOW dude, you are the man!!!! Those changes are terrific!!!! I showed a little video to some co workers and they were off the chain for it! Mind you, these are USAF pilots, who have seen multiple aspects of air and ground targeting. I do have a few bug/requests for the next version if you make one. The one thing that gets taken over by this mod is the SHIFT CLICK feature for the map in default ArmA. It always instead lays an SP. Is it possible to only have that box show up when you have the init line code in? And if left blank the chopper or jet functions as normal? ALSO: the weapon type font seems to be too big and the first and last part of the weapon name are not seen. when in the camera Also is it possible to extend out the range of when the "o" key will drop a bomb? I mean, can we just use it to drop when ever we want? I have been using this with ACE and when I use the the regular trigger to drop the bombs are hitting the LASED target. So can we extend the range or just make the regular trigger drop the bomb in the camera? Ill test without ACE just to be sure and Ill post back here! But man this is without a doubt the coolest MOD for fixed wing aircraft to come out for ArmA ever!! Awesome job, keep it up! FGhouse 0 Posted February 15, 2012 Doesn't work ! :( Is it compatible with Mando System ? Maybe it's the problem !
m1n1d0u 29 Posted February 15, 2012 maybe yes a simple solution to be sure , test without MMA ;)
FGhouse 0 Posted February 15, 2012 Maybe work with MMA... I test on editor with AV8 and nothing when I press my "hold breath key". Is it possible to had the camera on/off in the scroll menu ?
jumpartist 0 Posted February 15, 2012 You have to input the lines of code into the "Init" field Vous devez entrer les lignes de code dans le "Init" champ les lignes de code sont this SetVariable [" FLIRloc ", [3.4,0.9, -1.1], true]; this SetVariable ["Laser", true, true];
FGhouse 0 Posted February 15, 2012 Where I can find this file ?
blakeace 11 Posted February 16, 2012 @ Foxhound and Old Bear, thank you once again :) is it just me or is the CCRP with the mk82 incredibly inaccurate? I've played a lot of DCS A10c and with that I could at least always hit a freaking building! so far I've tried 6 times and never hit the intended target! To cover the basics, Are you using the watch key to fire the weapons? using the default fire button doesn't work? Are you using any other mods when using this? I can confirm ACE breaks the unguided bombs algorithm. My guess is they employ a fired event handler similar to how this does to prevent unguided bombs being able to hit targeted objects? I actually exploit this feature to guide the bombs to an object placed where the freefall position is calculated to be. There is a drift calculation used to ensure that unguided and guided munitions operate differently. Giving more importance to how a JTAC utilises the assets available to him. In the next version I have lowered the drift a little. CCIP is shaking too much to actually use! and the even the laser guided either fall short or miss by a mile! There is a small amount of jitter, one from trying to limit the intensiveness of continuosly calculating the impact point. Also undulating ground will also cause movement as each sample point is taken. I haven't written anything to smooth it as it is quite an intensive algorithm already. That said it is still well within the limits of being able to use in all my testing. If you are getting bigger movements I have not had any to be able to retify sorry. WOW dude, you are the man!!!! Those changes are terrific!!!! I showed a little video to some co workers and they were off the chain for it! Mind you, these are USAF pilots, who have seen multiple aspects of air and ground targeting. Cool I'm glad you all like it so far :) The one thing that gets taken over by this mod is the SHIFT CLICK feature for the map in default ArmA. It always instead lays an SP. Is it possible to only have that box show up when you have the init line code in? And if left blank the chopper or jet functions as normal? Do you mean the map component, for using the single click for setting the SP marker or the whole steering cue box which is displayed surrounding the SP positon in the world? ALSO: the weapon type font seems to be too big and the first and last part of the weapon name are not seen. when in the camera Cheers, yep will be reduced in the next version, experimenting with sizes. Also is it possible to extend out the range of when the "o" key will drop a bomb? I mean, can we just use it to drop when ever we want? I have been using this with ACE and when I use the the regular trigger to drop the bombs are hitting the LASED target. So can we extend the range or just make the regular trigger drop the bomb in the camera? Ill test without ACE just to be sure and Ill post back here! I used the BIS's ai range value as a least intensive way of ensuring the weapons are released with hopefully good parameters. I could change it to still display the lock symbol at that point but allow for release at any time? would you mind if I made another video that you could display to show this off? No problem at all, I look forward to seeing how somebody else employs the mod :) Where I can find this file ? It is not a file, but part of the objects dialog screen in the editor. I have uploaded a very simple example mission of how the code is added. Uncompress the file below and place where all your other missions are stored when you edit them. https://rapidshare.com/files/3208566285/test_PINS_lasing3.utes.rar
jumpartist 0 Posted February 16, 2012 Using the AI release point...AH I SEE. I would still allow the bomb to drop any time but still give the circle at optimum ranges, as I experienced I was dropping regular trigger bombs from the height of 3500 Meters and still getting perfect hits. It seems that as long as you are facing the target and at about 4.0 - 4.5 K the Bomb would drop and then guide right onto target. IF we allow the "O" key to drop when ever we want Im sure as long as we drop with int eh "Learned" parameters, we'll get perfect hits everytime! I am compiling footage right now and I have a certified marine FAC (Now Air force pilot) doing the 9 line portion for me. USing ACRE mod so radio should sound awesome!
