It will make you understand all the things that happens "behind" the pictures in the movie. I love the film. It's one of the best I've ever seen. But the book is actually better. Maybe because the story is more about psychological things that doesn't show up on a silver screen. If you read the book I'm sure you'd appreciate the film much more afterwards. All those Jay and Silent Bob flicks will go the way of all those Cheech and Chong flicks...<span id='postcolor'> Hum. Why does content always have to rule over form? Is there some grand rule that says that? If so, I missed it I have a very wide perspective, thank you very much. In some ways, Ritchie makes art films. They are very visually stimulating. I think the word is 'flash' according to those brits. And I find it enjoyable. As to Kevin Smith... Have you ever actually WATCHED Dogma?? In between the gags and the Golgothan Shit Monster, there is some really interesting commentary on catholic theology. The Plenary Indulgance is -real- and according to Catholic dogmatic belief, pass through the door of a chucrch with a papal sanction for a plenary indulgence...and at least according to the Catholic Church you have a clean slate. That is a fact...talk to a Catholic Priest. Not wanting to stir up a religious debate..but Dogma does make some telling points. Thing is that it's done in a way that angers narrowminded zealots. Read some of the reviews at imdb, you'll see what I mean. Now, I will agree that Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back has little merit And I would never call you eurotrash... Remember Macarena ? Â Exactly ! Â (Though I hated the song first time I heard it already). Movies like Godfather, The Graduate, The Abyss, Rain Man, Casablanca and countless others which I cherish and adore I keep on my DVD shelf but watch them maybe once a year with that special someone. It brings a lot more pleasure to me.<span id='postcolor'> You liked The Abyss?? Dont know what you have against Wag the Dog, its a good movie. Good actors, a decent plot, not to mention a completely ruthless sense of humor. And The Abyss? Really all I can remember (thank God) is that it had the worst ending of any movie ever (except maybe 2001 a Space Odyssey. I never really "got it", even though I thought the movie was pretty thought provoking).

That's what the movie is based on - and fairly accurately - just without all the underlying explanation found in the book, which pretty much makes you say "aha!" by each page turned. A truly amazing read. I was tempted to explain the ending here, but that would be a major spoiler
