-=Grunt=- 10 Posted October 25, 2011 I can't help but notice that after watching this: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/programmes/click_online/9621490.stm And seeing a screenshot of BIS' tank: http://media.steampowered.com/steamcommunity/public/images/apps/107410/1be7ffc65b4bfddb8dbe27109a3b8e9225e5c663.jpg That it's camo looks like the camo pattern of the tank in the video, the same "beehive" pattern of the pixels or whatever you want to call it. Does this mean that tanks can hide from FLIR at times in ArmA 3?
CarlGustaffa 4 Posted October 25, 2011 I don't imagine the honeycomb pattern is related.
Darkhorse 1-6 16 Posted October 25, 2011 I don't think so. It's just a camo pattern, like the one the chinese use. http://www.armyrecognition.com/images/stories/asia/china/wheeled_armoured/aft-9_hj-9/AFT-9_HJ-9_WZ550_anti-tank_guided_missile_wheeled_armoured_vehicle_PLA_China_Chinese_army_640.jpg http://i3.6.cn/cvbnm/18/39/48/10cc00c4da20600b9325543b8fc9c059.jpg http://i3.6.cn/cvbnm/f9/3a/2a/b579612614ca0189b4292c20389b006f.jpg http://i3.6.cn/cvbnm/9a/59/c1/17c00dae260a32b18c899c7e18a6f99e.jpg etc. -edit- *Shakes fist at Carl for demonstrating his ninja skills*
-=Grunt=- 10 Posted October 25, 2011 I was hoping for something like it, would make night armor vs armor operations interesting. Plus, it's 2025.

neojd[ny] 10 Posted October 31, 2011 "Tab" targeting ignores such features anyway. I guess so too... but when ACE will be up, it could be interesting. Maybe they will add a script that you can camo your tank as a civ car lol. Still dont like it being future... M1A1 + M2A3 vs T90s is the deal for me... But we will get them mods right :bounce3:
spektre76 10 Posted November 5, 2011 I'd rather see them with the new Carbon Nanotube Cloaking technology. N6SnvRzNCpo
purepassion 22 Posted November 5, 2011 Well Dwarden obviously liked the idea and I can imagine this fitting in the overall concept quite good. Might be a bit problematic in some points but we'll see :)
Sabot And Heat 10 Posted November 15, 2011 That Carbon Nanotube tech looks like a glorified mirror. An excellent goal never the less.
