Jaypaul9 10 Posted September 12, 2011 1. Can I install mods to Arma 2 free? How? 2. Why is everything blurry? I have to hold zoom and then it's clear. How can I stop everything from being blurry? 3. How can I optimize the game for performance and quality? 4. I heard Arma 2 oa has super crash issues...do later patches fix that? How would I get those? [frl]myke 14 Posted September 12, 2011 1. No, this is exclusive for full retail version 2. I don't know, knowing your Hardware and settings would probably help to track down any issues 3. See answer 2 4. Do you actually have crash issues? Then feel free to browse this forums for similar crash reports and solutions presented there. 5. (although not asked) 2 things you should always do: post as much info as possible, especially when it comes to troubleshooting every detail does matter. And second, use the forum search function as it might give you answers/solutions in less time than creating a new thread would need.

Jaypaul9 10 Posted September 13, 2011 Thanks for responses. One last thing: if this game is so realistic how come we can use superhuman zoomin abilities? I can't do that in real life... And how does one play windowed? Through the .ini? Changing the fullscreen=0?
viper[cww] 14 Posted September 13, 2011 It's called focusing, you can switch it off in controls if you dont like... In arma2.cfg in my documents\Arma 2, close to the bottom "Windowed=1;".
rangerpl 13 Posted September 13, 2011 It's not superhuman and it's not focusing. Your regular view is "superhuman" in that you have a wide field of view around you. The devs did this so that you could play the game on standard-sized monitors without feeling like you are looking at the game through a "window". The "zoom" just means that field of view is decreased to real-world values.
max power 21 Posted September 13, 2011 One last thing: if this game is so realistic how come we can use superhuman zoomin abilities? I can't do that in real life... This has been answered quite sufficiently by the devs in the past. Imagine someone sitting an average distance away from an average sized screen. I think in this case the calculations they did was for something like a 27 inch screen at arms length. Now, imagine instead of a screen, it is a window, and your head is in a box that blanks out everything but the window. This is the view you have 'zoomed in'. That view is calculated to be the most realistic possible. Now, imagine trying to aim a rifle or even navigate in the world with this black out box on your head... Sounds pretty tough. So, they have allowed you to 'zoom in' to get a better field of view (which is the default view) so you can navigate better. I hope this puts to rest your concerns. Jaypaul9 10 Posted September 13, 2011 Ah! That was the blur I was referring to in my OP. So if I turn that off in the (vidso settings?) will it just be focussed everywhere on the screen?
OrLoK 20 Posted September 14, 2011 Hello there, re: the post processing. Once turned off you will loose the groovy blurring and everything will look crisper. The best thing to do is try it yourself! rgds LoK
