FallenPaladin 0 Posted June 4, 2002 touchÄ But seriously... It normally takes me less than two shots to get a kill. The second is only fired to be sure And regarding Laury`s mission: I dropped two (2) guys with one rocket. And the machinegunner was hit through a bush with two bullets, too. That makes three shots, three kills AND I play in veteran mode with all HUD stuff disabled! Try to top that

theavonlady 2 Posted June 4, 2002 No offense, FallenPaladin, but I'm not enthused by the mission. I killed the general and got to Morton. My gripe is that the general didn't stick out here like a general should. You know what I mean if you played the Dragunov mission. There was no radio call when I reached Norton, so I turned myself in. I now work as a secretary for the St. Pierre municipality. That is, I couldn't complete the mission and find out my score. Some other comments: 1. still lotsa loud explosions from down south. 2. In the initial cutscene, it now took 3 sniper shots to kill the target versus 1 the last time I played the mission. 3. The mission Title passes by too fast. 4. during the cutscene dialog, don't refer to the player as "YOU". Just present the dialogue or assign a name to the player soldier. 5. In the briefing, there are still town names and objective references that should have links into the map.
FallenPaladin 0 Posted June 4, 2002 1. still lotsa loud explosions from down south. I have no idea why there are explosions. I don`t think the russians kill each other 2. In the initial cutscene, it now took 3 sniper shots to kill the target versus 1 the last time I played the mission. His aiming skills vary. No seriously, I used the command dofire, so I have no influence on how good he shoots. That varies everytime you watch the intro. 5. In the briefing, there are still town names and objective references that should have links into the map. Please give a few examples. Should I make links for St.Pierre or Levie? The mission objectives are connected. ... The idea behind my mission is that the colonel moves around and inspects his troops. So he is on the move and you have to ambush him. That`s sniperwork and I think it`s realistic, when you find yourself a good hideout and wait there for your target. If he was static, it would make no sense, because of the inspection-background. And it would be boring, too. When I testplayed yesterday, the helo came to me, I see to that again. Secretary...
FallenPaladin 0 Posted June 4, 2002 PS.: the pickup-zone is not in Morton. It`s south of it. Take a closer look at the map.

My gripe is that he just didn't seem to stand out in posture or in uniform. As an example, the general should be strutting around with no rifle at all or with it slung on his back but no one else should be. Also, you say he's accompanied by 2 Speznas soldiers. Bosun 0 Posted June 5, 2002 Well RustyKnight.... l see you left me ammo crates in town (had my name written all over them). However l didn't need them, no sir. Finished the mission with a clip and three gernades . Well okay l didn't officially finish the mission Okay another of my grunterly reviews... liked the cutscene...each of them short but sweet. But damn if l could find that goddamn officer, (probably in a building with my girl angelina.) I went between the two towns, clearing out most of the enemy, even managed to steal the chunky ambulance...although some helo tried to shoot me out of it. I was a little premature entering the building (second objective) so maybe that threw off the mission? I certainely enjoyed playing again, what with my new explorations and all. I will try again.... Pretty cocky now....just give me a pistol..
FallenPaladin 0 Posted June 5, 2002 A pistol ?!? Am I a mage?? I hope I`ll find some more time to work on my mission...
PopUpTarget 0 Posted June 5, 2002 Fallen, I played the updated version last night. After being deposited by the helo I took the route along the eastern side of the large hills and managed work my way to the last few trees above the town. I had clear shooting of anyone who appeared before me. I didn't know I had killed the Colonel until the "objective completed" message popped up. I wasn't too worried about getting him specifically since I was killing everyone anyway. Just a matter of statistics until I got him. I stayed up in my position until the Shilka went away, and the back-up squad appeared. I killed all of them, then moved to the town. I did have a bit of trouble when the script took my M21 away. I didn't realize it was gone until I ran into a soldier in one of the houses. I was trying shoot, and all I succeeded in doing was getting a really close look at him through my binoculors. Okay, so I run it again and this time I remember to pick up a Kalash. Things go better after that. So, I whack the soldier, and a couple of civilians (what the hell, I'm there right?), and move northwest to my pick-up. Running into some roving squads added a lot of interest to the mission. I never really knew when to expect them (which is good). I made it to the extraction point south of the town (yes, I can read a map, and I went to where it said "extraction")...the helo shows up, I get on and the mission ends. Very nice. I did have to pause and consider your story base-line. It's interesting that you set up the innocent civilians to be the target of Russian wrath in order to give the Americans the political excuse to invade. Either you're a political science student, or maybe once worked for the CIA. It's an interesting concept in that America is famous for that sort of "arrainged" incident in order to publically have an acceptable excuse for action. That was a unique, and inspired bit of sub-plotting there...which could lead to a sequel? Perhaps the truth about the "planted" sniper rifle is found out? Hmmm... PopUpTarget 0 Posted June 5, 2002 Avon...don't be hard on yourself. I tried not once, but twice to shoot a guy with my binoculors after Fallen took my rifle away. I also had to re-start a couple of times after I blundered onto a patrol (note the screen name "PopUpTarget"...it's my style of play, get shot, ask questions later). And did I mentioned that I attempted to just simply walk by the T80...thinking that I could casually stroll by on the beach and no one would notice? I was wrong...
