SARMedic177 10 Posted September 3, 2011 Hi folks, Firstly a big thankyou for all that you have done to date. It looks amazing and I can't wait to get flying with the final version. I have a question regarding the pilot's seating arrangements. Is it possible to select which side you fly on? I currently fly a selection of helicopters in the UK and have that freedom depending on the task at hand and if flying with, or as a co-pilot. Is there a chance that the ability to 'hand over controls' to the person next to you mid flight or even start as pilot in either forward seats as you please could be available? This is a functionality that I know would add realism but would also add functionality for missions in single and multi player. I look forward to hearing from anyone in the development team and thier views. Keep up the good work! :bounce2: Chris - SARMedic177
DnA 5143 Posted September 4, 2011 Hiya, thanks for the kind words :) Yes, we do allow the co-pilot to take over controls mid-flight. Unless a specific scenario prohibits it, you can always take over the controls from an AI pilot and give them back again. In the case of two human players, the pilot first has to release the controls.
RUBIX 10 Posted September 5, 2011 This is a feature I was hoping for. I would love to start helping others learn to fly in the Take On Helicopters world. I have read many threads where people are excited to learn how to fly and enjoy TOH to the fullest. p.s. If you are interested, feel free to PM me; when TOH is released, we can set something up. maddogx 13 Posted September 5, 2011 Great to hear that pilot switching between players is possible. :D I hope the game will come with at least one simple two player MP mission to let a teacher and a student jump right in for some lessons. :)

This is something I didn't expect or even thought about so it's another great surprise for me.

In the case that a human player disconnects or gets disconnected during a multiplayer session will the co-pilot or pilot remaining be able to take the controls? maddogx 13 Posted September 6, 2011 Quick question. In the case that a human player disconnects or gets disconnected during a multiplayer session will the co-pilot or pilot remaining be able to take the controls? Since there would no longer be a player there who would have to give permission to release his controls, the answer is almost definitely yes.
[evo] dan 79 Posted September 12, 2011 Excellent to see that the dev's have added this in. Will make doing training of pilots for Arma 3 in TKOH much easier.
