jblackrupert 14 Posted August 27, 2011 They did in fact receive $2 million in funding from the Australian Federal Government last year. Australia sure as hell would not have given out such a grant for a company to toy around with 20 year old technology. They obviously liked what they saw. It's a governments job to throw money away. Chances are the agency that gives away grants needs to spend 100% of the money given to them or they don't get the same amount next year. Just look at the "Artwork" sitting around rusting in parks in most major cities bought and paid for by local, state and federal goverment agencies.

This is the same Australian Government that wont allow an 18+ rating for games because they're "protecting the children!" (But wait, if you have to be 18+ to buy the game, you're no longer a child, so how can it be harming the children?) Yes, governments are well known for being on the pulse of technology. Afterall, they're all using the series of tubes, or is it dump trucks, that is the internets. Worst... justification... of... project... validity.... ever... dmarkwick 261 Posted August 27, 2011 Maybe because we cant be bothered repeating the same factoids about how its not really ground breaking? This is the BIS forum, we LOVE repeating tired arguments :D But, I guess it depends on how you would describe ground breaking. It certainly looked far better than other similar techs to me, and if you don't describe that as groundbreaking, what WOULD you describe as groundbreaking? Thank you. §10) Do not dig up old threadsThreads older than 4 months should not be dug up unless something significant is being added. If in doubt as to what is "significant", contact a moderator and they will give you their opinion. As always old threads will remain open or be closed at the moderator's discretion. Digging up an old thread simply to ask "any news" is also not acceptable, PM the thread starter or mod leader to ask. Closing. I'm reopening this thread because Sniperwolf redirected a discussion to this thread. Only actual contributions to the discussion about Euclidean will be accepted. This topic died a long time ago.
