No you cannot save the game, but.... if you had a server where it ran 24/7 then you could add the code persistant=1

in the server cfg, which will keep the server running provided it dont crash or anything and when you

rejoin the server later you will be able to go where you left off.

Outside of that, there might be a possibility of a script but I cannot say for sure, but in general no there is no possibility to save.

I think might be able to if you locally host it on your own machine (wild speculation, never tried it), but not on a dedicated server. The closest people have managed is to make a 'staged' mission, where you can select which stage to tackle at mission start and/or via triggers in game (e.g. radio or addaction type script). But you could just as well make several shorter missions.

Multi Session Operations has a funky module called 'Nomad' which saves the location, state and equipment of the player when he disconnects and returns them to the same spot on reconnect. Of course you have to keep the server running in the meantime though.

Alternatively, if you build the hole thing in Shay's rather awesome MCC Sandbox, you can save that and then add/remove stuff on the fly, which will give the impression of a saved game.

Until we have some extended I/O features which allow us to communicate with databases or save/load files ourselves, it'll be pretty much impossible.

First and third are pretty inconvenient and the second is an addon. Native support for stuff like this would be great.
