tofu 10 Posted May 31, 2011 Hi. I'm using ramdisk for some of the stuff that arma co needs and it's indeed giving me smoother gameplay regards that I'm patched up to date (CO). But.. I can't join any servers cause I'm using that ramdisk as a -mod@ram style and servers obviously don't have that "mod". Is there anyway to use partial ramdisk and still play MP? Thanks! You can do it using symlinks instead, link in my sig.

tofu 10 Posted June 1, 2011 -mod=t:\absolute\pathPS: It is hard to understand your actual problem. Hi, my ramdisk is working fine, using it like you posted. Problem is I can't join multiplayer when I'm using ramdisk as a mod folder. And now I tried symbolic linking but that also doesn't allow me to join servers. stk2008 14 Posted June 1, 2011 Hi,my ramdisk is working fine, using it like you posted. Problem is I can't join multiplayer when I'm using ramdisk as a mod folder. And now I tried symbolic linking but that also doesn't allow me to join servers. It should do as you dont need to alter you start command path for Symbolic I think? heheh. Did you reset your start command path back to default or have you made sure there is still no @mod folder being called that is no longer needed?.
.kju 3244 Posted June 1, 2011 Using a ram disk as client should no matter to a server. So it must be something wrong the way you are doing it. Can you please explain step by step what you did.
galzohar 31 Posted June 1, 2011 Isn't the (poorly-implemented) equalmodsrequired parameter capable of causing such problems? My guess is you're not getting this problem on ALL servers?
tofu 10 Posted June 2, 2011 I'm now able to join servers when using symbolic linking. I was just being sloppy.. all the links had symbolic link in their naming, obviously theyre not accepted when named incorrectly.. so my bad but thanks for helping, appreciated! RSF TheCapulet 59 Posted June 6, 2011 I have 8GB ram, and for the first 10 mins or so, gameplay is silky smooth on ramdisk. But after that, it degrades into a slideshow on MP servers, despite the fact that I'm still 1GB away from my max. Following the directions exactly as liquidpinky prescribed works. Just doesn't seem to work very well for me.
