Kindling 1 Posted June 8, 2012 No worries, that's exactly what we'll do, wait and see :) For now they are just promises and wishes :)Re Ruby/Endusers - you'd distribute a complete bundle for end-users, which means specific versions, there is no need to update libraries as a user so there is also no impact of changes in new versions, IMO its up to the developer to test/confirm and distribute the correct bundle. PM sent a wee bit back. Indeed, but then there's the security implications of that - using a static build of ruby and specific gem versions could invite all kinds of nasty attacks, especially with any app that parses input from the web. Added, by the way. I replied to your PM.

NakedSquirrel 24 Posted June 16, 2012 Sickboy, The UNSUNG team is currently working on a new release of the mod. The UNSUNG mod is a Vietnam era mod for ARMA 2. http://www.armanam.com/index.php We really like the work you've done with Sixupdater. It's an incredibly useful program for managing mods. Is there any way that we could work with you to add the UNSUNG mod on the Sixlauncher menu?

Xanek 1 Posted June 17, 2012 For some reason, whenever I use the six-updater, it doesn't respond to my clicks and actions, but it registers it after I click off the window, though it only refreshes what happened everytime I do that, so I can't tell if anything is working correctly. Can't really use the program to update my game or things like that.. so what may be causing this?

tonygrunt 10 Posted June 19, 2012 Whenever six updater has a major update and it asks for the installation directory, this defaults to the default directory not the one chosen where it was installed. Slight inconvenience but could you change this?

scorcher24 10 Posted June 20, 2012 Tried it, uninstalled it. Slow, awful and not really usable. I install Mods faster by Hand than with this tool.
sickboy 13 Posted June 20, 2012 Slow, awful and not really usable.Initial initializations are slow due to mirror prioritizing and gamespy fetches etc. Otherwise things should be rather speedy. If they're not, then something is wrong, often caused by security suites (AV/FW etc). There's also a known performance/freeze issue resolved for next build; https://dev-heaven.net/issues/33749 Using Six Launcher is recommended over the Updater. The Updater has bad UI design and some performance issues, which will be taken care off in the upcoming next-gen software. If you like, post your issues specifically, with details and preferably with log files, and we can look into resolutions: http://www.six-updater.net/p/support.html I install Mods faster by Hand than with this tool.Sure :) You can install, follow and update a handful or more mods faster than the tool, even with rapid and regular updates :)If that's the case, something's definitely wrong :D I'm up for fixing if you provide requested details. Perhaps the Windows EventLog contains some more clues when the error occurs; Control Panel -> Administrative Tasks -> Event Viewer -> Windows logs -> Application. sickboy 13 Posted June 20, 2012 Perhaps an earlier installation of .NET 4 failed? Is it listed in the Control Panel -> Add/Remove programs? You could try downloading the .NET 4 client profile from; http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=24872 alternatively you could try the web-installer; http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=17113 Otherwise it should be available on Windows Update. herpaderpa421 1 Posted June 20, 2012 Six updater is a nice program, very useful. The real bad thing is interface. In particular I have rarely seen server filters realized in a limitating way as in this program. You should really give a look @battlelog ones (no, I am not a fanboy). Example: - filters are never saved (first thing) - we should be able to select a rule for server name or at least we should be able to put something that is "cointained" into the server name, not the beginning (example "1.7.1.5" would give as the result all updated servers, now just nothing) - we should be able to select which countries to filter servers between, not just one - min. AND MAX players not OR. - a flag to exclude "full servers" (- what about joining the server with double mouse click?) - many others minor changes. Thanks for attention. Goodbye. I didn't look too much into the tool to be able to suggest in details. But: Don't get Servers on launch. Get them when I actually need them. And the whole tool is overloaded as hell sorry. My Suggestion: Look at the curse gaming client, it's an updater for UI addons for WoW, Rift and other Games. That's how you do it properly. Ask Modders to send you informations about their addons, where to download etc. Add them to a sqlite database. Download that database from a central server when the tool launches and when it has changed. Display the Database in your tool nicely and provide a 1-click install method. That would be much better. Make the server browser an extra part in the UI. Do something like a tabbed UI or so. There are many possibilities.
