Dreadstorm 10 Posted December 19, 2010 Hi i got Arma 2 Demo, played Death Valley and absoluly love it. Creating my own squad from barracks using money obtained from salvaging enemy positions, was in short amazing (even if i sucked at it). So i go and buy join operations. But where is that mode of play? I cant seem to find anything regarding it in the editor, and none of the SP missions are like that (even death valley has gone from the list) I was under the impression that I could play that mode of play on missions and even create my own using the editor.... am I wrong? Did i speand 30 quid to find I cant actually do that. Please illuminate me Cheers.
zigzag 0 Posted December 19, 2010 Im not sure what mission you are talking about, but if you learn the editor you can do whatever you want. http://forums.bistudio.com/forumdisplay.php?f=
Smurf 12 Posted December 19, 2010 Thats the Warfare mode. There are many versions of it running in many servers. And I don´t recall the names of those missions to seelct from the SP Scenarios, but they are there...
ajsarge 10 Posted December 20, 2010 Sadly, Death valley was in the A2 demo only. It would've been nice if they included it in the retail version too. But, you're looking for the game mode called Warfare. There's a small one for Utes, and much larger ones for Chernarus and Takistan. Now, does someone with more editor skill than I want to make an epic small-scale PMCs vs. BAF warfare-like mission on one of the new, small, maps?
Dreadstorm 10 Posted December 20, 2010 ok, i found superpowers on Chenaurus and ill look at the others. So yes you can use the editor to make Warfare Missions? Does it involve scripting? Second, other than using the above to make your own missions, is there anyway of making/playing a Single Player Mission with Warfare style mechanics. I ended up creating a LAN multiplayer Superpowers last night, but with it being Multiplayer I couldnt save and come back later- playing 4 million hours on the trot isnt something I want to do. Also is there a thread for helping noobs like myself get into the multiplayer community??
max power 21 Posted December 21, 2010 I thought you could save and continue mp games in ArmA... I'm pretty sure you can. Or maybe you can just suspend and continue them.

rss334 10 Posted December 23, 2010 See here is another post asking about warfare mode. As a new player myself I created a similar post weeks back, yes I searched the forms. Although there are multiple topics on this subject, none actually give us new players a clear cut answer. Most of the topics just point to another topic and say use the search. As new players we want to play single player on a map, but have the warfare mode option so we could run our own army against the enemy AI who is doing the same. Why can't someone just give us a clear answer all us noobs can understand? (speaking for myself - maybe others?). I've spent weeks trying to figure this stuff out and just can't seem to find what I want in single player.

The ArmA2 warfare mode was inspired the CTI (Conquer The Island) missions back in Operation Flashpoint . IMO you will get helluva lot more out of a crCTI (in the link) than out of a warefare mode game. They are community maintained, updated on a very regular basis and use supreme addons and parts of modifications. You don't need to worry about getting all the stuff togehter, though, it all comes in a neat and free DLC zipfile. And yes, you will be able to play it in Single Player against an AI controlled side, alongside with your AI mates. All you need to do is to start a dedicated server on your own machine with a couple'o clicks and you're done. Trust me, it's worth the effort :) Edited December 23, 2010 by Flattermann

Not trying to patronising, but maybe because its a game, and you can create whatever story you like? like i created one BAF vs US, of corse the british won because the're PARA reg, haha! :popcornsmilie:

Hmm, well than the only way is to connect to a server like e.g. 217.79.189.169 and play it online. In case you will have more RAM some day: Dedicated Server HowTo: http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/ArmA:_Dedicated_Server
ShrubMiK 0 Posted December 24, 2010 >I can't run a dedicated server from my machine without running out of memory and I have a hefty machine with 6gb ram. As I believe somebody else already said somewhere...then you must be doing something badly wrong. It's perfectly possible to run dedicated server and client on a 4GB machine. Takistan isn't actually a real country. Tactics, weapons and strategy add more to the realism then what side one is on.
