Black Screen Minimize To Desktop

This happens randomly between 40 minutes of gameplay to anywhere to 3 hours of gameplay. Last time it happened I was making a map tested it then when I hit abort to go edit some things the game went to a back screen then minimized to desktop. I click on the icon at the bottom to open the game back up but it still showed my desktop however I could hear ingame sounds. I also noticed that when it minimizes I get this weird yellow triangle in the taskbar with a exclamation point in it.

I am using the Steam version of Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead Playing with Combined Operations.

I had a problem like this, check your ram settings in the BIOS and see if there set right. i would get the right ram settings form the manfacter then set it manualy on you BIOS.

yes ,time & speed, and volts, should have a guide on the forum who make your ram,

your volt is 1.5V so have a look around on how todo it,

well the same problem goes for me as well, and my RAM is set correctly) so any more ideas as what this could be ?

(ps. sprocket version on Win 7 x64 home edition 4gig ram Asus Gforce 9800 gt, intell Q6600 Quad core processor)

pps. it never happend before but i recently bought PMC and after this thisd starts to happen ? could it be ........ (i am not saying it, you are! :P )

I get this a lot

"back screen then minimized to desktop. I click on the icon at the bottom to open the game back up but it still showed my desktop however I could hear ingame sounds"

work around I use left shift + keypad - then type flush

this brings it back .

Now 1 in 4 time it comes back but the men will be black *silhouette .. so I do the -flush again and it corrects it.

*(A silhouette is the image of a person, an object or scene consisting of the outline and a featureless interior)

My GTX285 does the same if in game video memory is set to "very high".

It has never done it with setting it to "high".

This seems to be the same issue than discribed here. Happens to me too (also have the GTX 260).

Really hope that BIS or Nvidia can fix this as it doesn't happen with no other application / game.

What helped me some times so far though, was updating the graphic drivers.

There was one driver (approx. 1 month back) which causes the crash very very often. Then the actual one was released (260.99) and it became much better.

EDIT:

One idea that might narrow the bug: Can you guys confirm that the crash happens more often when running the game in window mode? Perhaps this is just bull$hit, but who knows... I didn't play too much in the last days but the last time the crash happened was when I ran the game in window mode (preview in the editor). Then yesterday I played approx. 1,5 hours in full screen mode and it didn't crash at all.

Never got this anymore since i got rid of my GTX285 and after i bought a new GTX460.
