Omg, b2 w nukes addon!

Ok, the idea was to attract people's attention. Just wondering when will we see the first oxygen ground vehicles or some new ideas. So far all the addons and ideas seem to be air units (and most of them are really useless and/or insane)

Something what many of us want see are missing and not even mentioned by the mod makers:

BTR

armed russian recon vehicle,

humwee w/mg

self propelled artillery

And somebody should edit bmp and m113 so that grunts would sit on top when in gargo tounge.gif

y never it would provided me with minutes of entertainment, any addon is an optional dl so i dont care who makes what, people can make what they want if sum one makes a nuke addon all dl it if sum one makes a hedgehog addon ill dl it.

grrr i wish ppl would look through the first 3 pages on this forum... THIS IS THE THIRD POST!!! saying we need more ground units and right now all that is being made is air units!!! GRR!!!!

we need to make sub forums for modelling ... Requests and a pimp section when modellers can post there work without things getting mixed up with requests and all the othe stuffs =:/

I know this is the Xst thread about ground troops. Believe me, I've read all of them. I'm just so frustrated with "should I do a C-5 or hercules" "no, make migs and harriers" threads. How many posts about planes? A lot more than ground stuff wink.gif

I've seen that artillery at the decisive killin machine page i think, do you know if the artillery has proper ballistics or does it aim at the target?confused.gif

i think somone should have to use a laser pointer or something as a device to artillery get the co-ordinates of the target.

yeah but all them latest threads on should i make this or that is from MODELLERS!!! wanting to make there mind up on what to make ....

and in them posts ppl make comments migs this and that ....

but ppl requesting is a diff matter ....

i just think they need to make sub-dir forums for modelling ....

so it is easy to search through

somethng like

*1: general decisions/discusions

*2: model pimping/showing finished work & releases

*3: Requests & help

that way it is easy to navigate through the posts =:/

we still dont know what method we are going to use for the M109a6 we now have direct fire but that would be changed!

we are still busy with making details and stuff.

also there is maybe coming a desert version!

ill post on the forum screenshots and if it is released you can find it at the DKM modpage.

but when i cant tell (not so long)

Have you thought about asking BIS for help about indirect fire??? From the screenshots from VBS it seems they are using it there maybe they can give you a hint or two on how to make it work.

I agree about too much stuff with questionable usage in OFP around/ being planned, mostly aircraft of some type that is. confused.gif

Nice model of the Paladin btw., with some redone textures and indirect fire mode this for sure will be one of the most valuable addons.

Indeed there is, Vulcan and Shilka have both arched fire. Set viewdistance to something like 2000 in desert island and fire and you'll see the tracers go in ballistic way. This is great tactic with Shilka & Vulcan, you can shoot behind hill into a village with correct arch (although it's very hard but it works).

If anyone has the scud attack script from the editing centre, they can see this is a way of selecting targets, using the map.

Vixer, that Paladin looks neat man. Textures need more work and the tracks are a little too wide. In real life Paladin uses computerized system for aiming. Mayve you could implement a method where one would click an area on the map and the cannon would aim itself to fire there. Limitations are that it can only fire a round every 15 seconds for the first 3 minutes, thereafter it can only fire one round per minute. The barrel simply gets too hot.

Honestly I think there are a few dillemmas that surface when we talk about artillery. First, it would take the fun out of the game, for the most part anyway. I mean here you are getting your base raped by artillery. What do you do ? I mean, the thing could be hidden absolutely anywhere on the island. That's 100 square kilometers. Sure it would be fun for US to use it against the helpless AI, but what's the fun in doing something the AI cannot defend against ? There's just no challenge and thus no fun.

Maybe Artillery could be used as non-player-controlled unit. You could include it in your group, and would be able to issue order to it, specify targets, etc, while the artillery rests safely in your base awaiting orders.

Whats the re-loading time on that tank? it appears to have just fired and have already have a new shell ready to fire............ does it even have a re-loading time? it would have to be small to take out all those enemy tanks.
