Arma 2 steam and beta patch

Alright i im trying to get rid of this beta patch off my combined operations. Its not in my target line i unstall it about 500000 times i even deleted all files from my computer that are part of the beta patch but guess what IT STILL SAYS im running 1.55 when i need 1.54 every one else they got rid of there beta patch and they go back to 1.54 but not me it stays on 1.55. I im also running ACE with it. Any ideas of how to get this Beta patch off my arma so i go back down to 1.54?? :confused: AND ARMA 2 AND ARROW HEAD ARE BOTH ON STEAM

lol! Probably because the OFFICIAL 1.55 patch has already been released; so you can't go back to 1.54 unless you uninstall it and keep it from auto-updating

then tell me this why when they run the beta batch they come to 1.55 then they take it off and they go back down to 1.54????????

huh? both final and beta are on 1.55 ... steam is 1.55 aswell

alright let me try to say this again. I have steam for arma 2 and arrow head. the night before the update i was able to get on my friends severs but when the update came we both updated my updated by steam and his updated by your website arma2.com . next day come on cant get on the server because he has 1.54 i told him to update he did. I told him to put on beta patch then he became 1.55. But we dont like the Beta patch because it wont work with acre. I unstall the beta patch i im still at 1.55 but when he unstall his beta patch his become 1.54...

You're not really listening.

The last 2 beta patches are version 1.55.xxxx (IIRC). The 3rd most recent and earlier are 1.54.xxxx. The current default version (re: not using beta) is 1.55.xxxx.

If you have updates enabled on STEAM, you now have the 1.55 version as it should have automatically patched. If you want to run 1.54, get an older beta (74630 would be a good choice) and install that. Running 74630 will let you join servers running the 1.54 version.

It took a while for the STEAM version of the patch to be available, so some people were using one of the more recent betas to play on servers that had already updated to 1.55.

Uninstalling the beta patch is just that- it has NO effect on the regular game files. My guess would be that your friend never actually patched his game- he simply used one of the new betas.

edit: re-read your last post. If the beta won't work with ACRE, you might be screwed for the time being. Once STEAM has updated, you can no longer get older versions from it.

When arma 2 arrow head had that update i cant join my clan server becuase i cant turn off the beta patch but they can turn it on and off just like that. I have steam so is it a steam problem or what? Really all im asking is how to turn on and off the beta patch?

iam reinstalling arrowhead through steam but i dont want it to update it how can i disable the update i went to dont automaticly update this game if i put it on the game installing prgress will be paused is there any other way to disable the auto updates thanx
